3030 mcpcb

Hey guys want to do some testing on some 3030 leds but I can’t get anything to focus right because the MCPCB are to small and my solder spots for my leads touch the reflector and shorts it out. So is there any larger MCPCB I can buy besides 16mm and 20mm ?

I don’t know of any, but it is possible to solder some 3030 LEDs to 3535 boards. It can be done with W1 and W2 at least.

I’m glad to see new LEDs in 3535 coming out that are alternatives to some of these 3030 LEDs, like the SFT25 versus the W2.

What 3030 LEDs? 3030 only specifies the size of the footprint, but not the solder pad layout. A 3030 Osram has a very different solder layout than, say, the 3030 Optisolis, and a PCB for one would be unusable for the other.

Im using a green KP CSLPM1

I see. Would it be feasible to redo the solder spots and intentionally flatten them while they are liquid, and finish off with a layer of insulating tape? A well designed centering gasket plus reflector should have enough leeway.

Put a l21b reflector on my lathe and turned it down a few mm and what a difference the makers can do while making these lights, maybe I can get a better focus
