I found this on youtube and I found it funny.
That is funny, and it was 2008, my last mod was a 2x18650 8.5A direct drive MT-G2 light, so that is about 50W as well and sort of the same output, but much smaller and only 1 led (+a bit less soldering ). That is how fast the technology goes.
Yup, in 2008 the 9 LED flashlight was considered the 'dog's ballz' for its time.
Now it's just dollar store junk for the typical BLF'r.
There should be a kit. If you ever needed to learn how to solder, I guarantee you'll be a pro after building a 500 LED light!
I have noticed that so far, single emitter LED flashlights do not sell well in retail stores. People must just look at it and think, heck I have a 9 led light at home that cost way less than that. The average Joe on the street thinks of led lights as having low output, near infinite runtime. They have no idea that a single LED can be incredibly bright.
I don’t know how I can handle such a large flashlight. I mean you need two hands to carry it. But anyway, I love the design though. Sleek and black.
It’s like this with pretty much everything. People just have what they think they need. They haven’t seen a powerful torch before so they don’t know they want/need it. To them their 9 led light is the best, therefore they don’t need anything.
Once you show them that their 9 led light is crap and offer a better alternative they’ll want the better one regardless of actual need but ‘just in case’.
What you said is completely true though, which is why it’s so easy to spend a ton of money on lights.
It seems good
