Well, I don’t trust anyone’s absolute lumens measurement completely. All these cheap lux meters many people used here deteriorate over time, or might be more sensitive to certain color temperature, and never or no way to send for recalibration. The error can be quite large. Before any measurement, most calibrated test instrument has a reference calibrator that calibrate the test setup. Reference calibrator is very stable and also sent for verification or calibration from time to time, and the uncertainty can still be large like +/-5%.

To me, relative lumen measurement is more reliable, for side by side comparison of multiple flashlights.

Acebeam asked me to review their lights and sent me the 1000 lumen UC15, I royally up the review and they don’t even reply to my emails now

Hell of a technology balance there. working without cooking itself with it’s own heat.

Apart from “wanting” one. What would you do with it?.
From a fixed point, scanning. Maybe. Hilltop/chair/single Malt.

Walkabout. Smaller would do more comfortable job. Lighter. cheaper. and getting closer all the time.
They’re starting to get into the impractical stages for hand torches nowadays I reckon.

Just for fun the other night. I strapped my Convoy L2/L6 side by side,
with a tapered foam block between them to align beams.
Hanging off a shoulder strap.
Almost WOW… But for the prices not bad for what is a cheap Combo
with looongish/wideish cover beam.
I did it with my C8+ and Astrolux S41 too.
Trouble being I did it AFTER the L series. very ho -hum.

I wonder what the biggest current thrower with the same in spreader would produce?.
Surely some of you must have thought that way and played at one stage.

We own a horse farm and currently use X65’s to scan pastures and check fence lines.

The X70 may do that job even better. We’ll find out soon enough.

Vinh’s saying the centre LED isn’t very bright and that after ceiling bouncing it he feels it’s around 50,000 lumens.
