So i was thinking about getting a Armstrong 65w fast charger to charge the 46950 battery for my Mach 4695 light. Do u guys think this would be an ideal charger without possibly damaging the battery? Thxs…
It will work, the question is do you really want to charge a big battery like that so quickly.
Well i know with what i got it takes 8-9 hours to charge. I was hoping to get it down to like 5 or so hours!
Won’t the light limit itself to a max of 3A’s per the description on their webpage, regardless of how many amps a charger can put out?

I’d be totally shocked if the light works any different from other device that pulls amps from a charger. The limiting factor is what the device is designed to draw and not what is potentially available to it.
Get some lab power supply with battery charging option.
USB-C Rechargeable with max 4A charging current
From the spec sheet. Since I guess this is battery current, it’ll probably max our around 15W or 5V 3A. Seems like the light can not do any USB-C PD, just USB-C regular current spec.
Hooking it up to a higher powered USB-C supply won’t help. You’ll have to charge it externally. Either via a lab PSU with dedicated battery charging feature, or using some higher power RC battery charger.
65W would take ~2 hours to charge, so 0.5C charging rate. That’s about the equivalent for 1.5A to a 18650 cell. That’s a pretty relaxed charging speed for the cell.
I may just charge it the way i have been.
The 65W wall wart will be useless. I tried on a 45W brick and the battery has a hard limit on charging in that light at around 20W. I couldn’t crack that, and the max amps is around 3. That ‘4 amp’ figure is still at 5 volts, and it’s probably the Huawei FCP 5v4a protocol.
I think they are limiting the current and volts due to the fact this is still a 1S battery and those higher currents are being implemented in 2S and 4S setups. This battery can take much higher charge inputs, but they are playing it safe (plus that takes larger and more expensive charge circuits).
