I’ve had a good look around and most of the info coming up on a search is pre 2012. I’m trying to build an 18650 Surefire 628 replacement. I had read a lot about Solarforce items but that seems non existent now.
I’ve found a body and a Z32 style head on Ali but am unsure on what off the shelf drop in to go for? I’ve seen XM-L banded about. There are numerous cheap options on Ali etc or I have seen a D26 Nichia on Lumens Factory. Any recommendations gratefully received.
P60 seems to be mostly a dead end now.
Kaidomain does have hosts and drop-ins. Apparently the thread is different to other hosts though.

Kaidomain are now the kings of P60, with some excellent colour LED options. Being able to buy an entire flashlight from companies such as Convoy, often for less than the price of a P60 drop in, plus the poor heat handling of P60, rather killed it off other than for specialist use cases.
Lumensfactory makes some pretty nice 6P drop-ins and other SF compatible parts.
For recoil, it might be nice to have encapsulation of the components. One small specialist company in the US that does that is Malkoff. Their stuff is well recommended.
