7135 need output capacitor ?

Currently almost every 7135 based drivers has no output or input capacitors. even 7135 datasheet doesn’t say it…
but when we googling we find old datasheet. new 7135 datasheet say it need output capacitor.

check this

http://www.e-neon.ru/user_img/catalog_datasheets/amc7135_d.pdf

In the data sheet it says:
The output capacitor may be removed under certain condition. If LED and AMC7135 is located in the same PCB, and the length of the routing path board-VDD to LED <10cm & LED to AMC7135 <3cm, the output capacitor can be neglected.

Does anyone know how a driver would act if it were wired up outside the stated specs above, but didnt havr the capacitors fitted?

It would be a little less stable at regulating current. My suspicion, however, would be that it wouldn’t be unstable enough to even notice with the bare eye. I wouldn’t worry one bit about an output cap.

PPtk

yeah its unstable without caps. but didn’t noticed such thing.

It’s not difficult to add an output cap. Just solder one end of a 1 microfarad smd 805 to the ground ring and the other to the output pad. The same can be done in the input pad with a .1 microfarad cap. I was able to put them end to end across the three pins of one of the sot-89 chips. That was a pita.
