A Few Beam Shots(Lumatic Angle Certified)

I had to throw that one in on the title.

All these are manual exposure 1.2 sec shutter f/4 ISO 400 white balance set to fine.

Now that I know these are LAC beamshots I’m all eyes and no ears.

Btw, ‘LAC’ has now been trademarked. All usage thereof of this acronym to describe superiorly-taken beamshots is subject to royalties submitted to the Lumatic International Banking Consortium. :open_mouth: :money_mouth_face:

Great shots!! Wow that HID really comes alive out there!!!

I told you it would.

I got to go take some more of the 7G5V2 collimator at 445yds.

Here a mouseover is of the HID vs TN31 just looking at the barn.

Mouse over for TN31 mouse out for HID.

Hard to say for sure which one is the better thrower, currently I'm thinking TN31 but due to the fog it is hard to tell.

Man I like that HID tint  I know it will depend on type/brand/config of the display you use, but on yours, does it look similar in real life? Nice white tint, I like how the grass color is rendered

I would say so.

Is flood factored-in your evaluations when saying one torch is throwier than the next? I mean I’m purty sure someone could hop up an A60-type for example and out-throw all of what got there yardage wise but it would be just a tiny spot in the distance with about zero relative effective flood in comparison.

IOW, do ya have some criteria/formula weighing flood and throw? Or does throw to you only mean whatever is illuminated the brightest 450 yards out? It could be just a single tree branch, for example?

It would be pretty tuff to make a Jacob A60 out throw any of these lights. most of my good XM-L throwers will beat the Jacob A60 in throw easily way out there.

I’ll go take on with the TN31 so you can compare it to the HID. I don’t think it’s gonna be close to the HID though.

Lumatic, the lights ILF is showing all do 100kcd or more (approximately) the A60 does maybe 50 as does the 08.

The Yezl HID beats the TN31 easily.

… 8)

It doesn't take much to get over 100cd... Don't be a kreisler though. ;)

:open_mouth:

Hey btw, I believe you’re on the verge of some quality-camera beamshootin’, Scaru-style? How’s that coming?

I'll bet you even a 5mm LED could do 100cd.

I’ll remember that in the future.

Now we just need to get the first shipment of the LAC tripods in so we can start clearing the shelves of this great product. Just think of the beamhsot photos to come.

LAC Beamshot approved! Maybe we can get a deal worked up with the camera manufacturers to punch in our LAC code to print the LAC emblem on our photos. Man we have raised the bar!

The camera came in but I haven't had a chance to go take any beamshots, that probably will wait till next weekend.

How does it look?

And what do you think for the price?

Great camera, I've spent a lot of time playing around with it and it is pretty impressive. Zoom is really nice, easy to use. Sadly the SD card that came with it was corrupt, but that doesn't matter to me as I already have a bunch of those lying around. Overall a great deal for the money.
