A Great Little Giveaway ---- SOFIRN

I’m still waiting for my first Sofirn light to get to me (stuck on the mail), so I cannot point things out about that. What I can commend you guys on is how active your reps are and your willingness to work with the community. This deserves praise and thanks!

EDIT: Now that I have my SP40, I can give a bit of critique: the build and UI are absolutely on point and I love how the beam profile relieves the lateral offset of its source. If this is the Sofirn standard, I will get more products, whether I win this GAW or not.

You guys make flashlights with very practical designs which are widely available and well suited to both enthusiasts and consumers. I particularly like being able to recommend your lights to people on Amazon with batteries included. But I do think too many of your flashlights have low CRI and ugly green tints, something I try to avoid when possible. It would be nice to have Nichia options, 144A, 219B, 219F, 519A, E17A, E21A, or B35A, or perhaps a mixture of two different color temperatures in high CRI SST-20 or LH351D emitters such that you have a neutral color temperature with a rosy tint (IF25 is a good start but not very bright).

Thanks for the giveaway and this format. It’s great to see Sofirn continue to seek customer feedback.

I like how already successful lights like the SP40 continue to be improved. I think it was this year (or last year??) that the high CRI option became available. As mentioned by others I hope high CRI becomes more widely available standard or at least as an option from the beginning. Very happy with the D25L.

5000K and less for color temperature please. I don’t think I will be getting anything >5000K anymore.

Finally, seeing more focus on sustained lumens instead of 30 second max values would be great. Both numbers can be advertised but I would see value in well-designed lights that can push the sustained performance. That deserves more bragging rights in my view.

Thanks, and much success in the next year!

I too have several Sofirn lights. I think my favorite is the SP70. Maybe update that at some point with BLF suggestions.

Also, keep pumping many and varied products into Amazon availability. Even little things like short tubes, diffusers, etc.

Hey Sofirn, big compliments on everything you do.

My first real light was a Sofirn, and I own at least 15 sofirn lights.

Your designs are great and thoughtful, I would like to see more LED options in the future, but you guys are keeping great pace with all the new designs and colors.

When will we get “splatter” anodizing? It looks amazing.

I like the IF22A (although I have not bought one. It is just simple and great.

In general I like that many Sofrn lights have USB-C charging, that there are often high CRI options, and that the lights are easy to access (nice for modders). The designs are a bit boring though but for something as utilitarian as a flashlight that may not be the most important thing.

For next year I really hope that Sofirn picks up the “grandma light” design. The ideas were started on BLF 2 years ago, Sofirn was initually willing to join the project to make it happen but then corona came and after that everything stopped. I think that the project is as relevant as it was 2 years ago!

So I recently got the IF22a, and it is honestly a near perfect torch!

I wish it would have a better UI. It’s not bad, it just doesn’t compare to Narsilm or Anduril.

So I would say this year the build quality has improved slightly, hopeful next year all the torches will have either Narsilm or Anduril.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Thanks for the GAW Sofirn!

Like others have mentioned, I also like the IF22A SFT-40 and its on my to buy list in the new year.

Feedback - this has been bugging me for some time now ....it has to do with your name...was it supposed to be Sofirm but someone registered the name with an N instead of an M....I needs to know?

..

Great! Only have 3 Sofirn lights, enjoy all of them

Thanks for the prizes!

SOFIRN is on a good "road" regarding it's models

  • Keep up and add USB-C as a charging option
  • Offer Neutral and high-CRI models
  • Keep the good quality/price
  • Offer colored bodies (like tan, blue, green)

Looking forward to getting my first light

My wishes/suggestions:

  • C01R should be back. I love it so much that I have stopped using it because if it breaks I couldn’t replace it.
  • HS05 is a great addition, but it needs sub-lumen modes. It could also be a little shorter, like Manker E03Hv2.
  • It would be great to have a 4xAA modern replacement to SF11.
  • Forget about cold white, low CRI or high-low interfaces. Give us what we want :money_mouth_face:
  • Keep adding USB-C charging. For me it is a must for any torch with lithium batteries.

well

i would like anduril with AA size battery

or AAA

also cheap anduril anything

thx

All my lights to date have worked well; thanks for the holiday GAW!

Bought quite a few of your lights this year :
SP40 (multiple ones), LT1, HS05 : all are very cool
SP40 is a very cool platform for modding as a 18350 light, and I am eagerly waiting for the HS40

still in transit : HS10, HS40 and LT1S

only things I’d like to change :

- updating the Anduril scheme on the LT1 Aliexpress page : it is outdated

  • selling directly spare parts for your flashlights (LEDs and MCPCB, lens, o-rings etc) : it is cool that you send them with custom orders, but that would be easier to order them directly for modding

For HS40 i’d like a way to limit charging current to 1A when used with a 18350 tube (maybe a kind of jumper on the PCB to do it?)

Mine is in my go bag.
I would trust it to work in an emergency.
Light tan with a dark green clip would be nice.
Do away with the writing.

! !

This year I buy only Hs20, good idea and materials. But light is awful, and can’t be easy moded. Be careful with choose of LEDs and optics. If you not sure feel free to ask.

Need more hi cri and warmer tint option (2000-2700k) and more sbt90.2 lights !! :+1:

Hello Sofirn!

I am a loyal fan and customer, and am particularly fond of your smaller lights. I use the sp31’s with 18350 tube, the SP10v3 and the SC21 as hat lights every day. I have several of your larger lights as well.

I am happy to see the use of 660 nm red in the new D25lR! I would love to see more lights optioned with red and green emitters, such as in the IF22A

Keep up the good work!

Seth Laughlin

I like how good value all the lights are. Workhorse!
