I spend way too much time daydreaming about lights to mod 
, and most recently I’ve been dreaming of a host that offers a good compromise between ease of modding and compatibility with components. Thought I’d share some of my ideas with you guys…if anything, it’s more for self-validation :bigsmile:
Pill:
- Sized for 20mm MCPCBs, with screw holes for fastening 16mm and 20mm MCPCBs
- Sized for 20mm-diameter optics/reflectors
- Here’s the key feature: Adjustable pill height to accommodate varied optic/reflector heights, eg. from “mule/no optic” to triple optics to 20mm tall reflectors.
- Since the pill is height-adjustable, there needs to be a fixed contact board for the positive battery node. The positive and negative current paths will have to be wired from this contact board to the driver.
Driver-side of the pill:
- Sized for both 17mm and 20mm diameter drivers. This might need more thought to fit both diameters, but perhaps the pill opening could be 20mm, then has another step deeper into the pill for 17mm drivers.
Tailcap:
- Threaded for McClicky switches
Other pre-requisites :bigsmile: :
- foybezel
- Square-cut battery tube and tailcap threads
- Type 3 HA
All these ideas are just floating around in my head and I wish I had the time and skills to actually build something like this. But maybe, just maybe, if we all had enough interest, one of the manufacturers on the forum could pull this together? I know I know…wishful thinking again…
