About Soraa Vivid A60 E27

Hey. I’m not great when it comes to light bulbs so I did a bit of research. I’m guessing you guys know what you are talking about so I thought I’d come here for an answer.

I’m thinking about buying the Soraa Vivid A60 E27 3x for my light bulbs at home (I’m in the UK). The CRI ticks the box I needed but I have three questions. When the spec sheet says less than 30% flicker, is that good? Will I see noticable flicker through my webcam or not (Webcam is the best I can get, Logitech Brio)? The current bulbs I have are supacell and the flicker I’m getting on the cam is unimaginable.

The second question is: is 3 lots of 800 lumens enough for a small sized living room? I don’t know the exact size but it’s definitely smaller than most living rooms. And the third question…is 2700k color temperature good for streaming or would I need to focus more on that? (I’m a twitch streamer so it’s important the webcam has the correct amount of light and quality to reach 60fps)

for streaming the camera does its white adjust to the lights you use, genearally high CRI depends on the color quality
at least CRI90!
dont mix up different light colors every light uses the same

Ideally i would use CRI95 at 4000K, there are nice 24V CC strips you can glue to aluminum profiles and do a sort of all around light strip at the ceiling

Not sure but adding a soft box shining at you would likely improove the quality a lot

The main things I’m trying to deal with is to improve the quality of the webcam and remove the flicker (Or at least have minimal flicker) using only e27’s. The Logitech Brio I have has very good quality, it just needs the right lighting to get it to that quality. I don’t really want alternatives.

They seem very good but there’s no real reviews or anything to go off of. Soraa I have seen a few reviews for, and phillips is well…phillips. So if anyone has used some and could give their opinions on lifespan, color etc then that’d be great.

When they talk about flicker, I think they are talking mostly about use with a dimmer switch

If you really want get rid of flicker use for webcam a DC light source like those light strips

Sorry but uh…after messing around a bit, I found that it was the flicker from the TV and the major flicker coming from the 1ms Motion Blur Reduction feature on my monitor that was causing all those problems. There is still a tiny bit of flicker but it’s barely noticable. I still definitely need more light to play with though. Currently I use 3 400-ish lm (I think so anyways) supacell bulbs, not sure of the color temperatures. After changing the exposure from auto to 0, the webcam is very dark and well under 30 fps. Shows I need more light.

Think I should get the Soraa with 800 lm each? Or should I go with the daylight 1055lm from Phillips and lose a bit of color quality? I’m not an expert with this kind of stuff so it’d be helpful if someone could give their opinions on these bulbs. I’m not after other stuff that aren’t e27 bulbs, I’m just interested in these 2 and any other ideas you may have to solve this problem, thanks.

yes I thought you want to improve your webcam quality not only upgrade simple room lightning
for that you need definately like 2-4k lumens on top of the room lightning for your cam, unless you got a webcam with big sensor and lens which costs a lot more than simply using more light in a softbox

There are Philips LEDs with CRI97 in the upper price segment for commercial lightning, but mostly spotlights

If you want real bright lights those would be good 3000 or 5000 lumens per bulb

as you wrote current light does not be bright with auto exposure turned off you definately need a soft light box

It can be simple like hell, all you need
white cloth (silk or nylon works best) or buy photo diffusion foil to put as diffusor
reflective layer can be aluminum foil and some spray glue
with a simple shipping box of a proper size cut into shape
tape

Light source not an expensive High CRI camera light, simply build it yourself
12 or 24V 100W PSU
some aluminum profiles to heatsink and mount the light strip parts
some wires to connect them all
