Is it possible that the Torx bit is slipping because you’d previously tried to use an Allen key on it?
I did not use force. One hex key was far too big, the next one down was loose. Under a loupe both sockets look hexagonal.
Assuming it’s not cross-threaded, you might have to resort to mole grips or something then buy new bolts.
Or carefully cut a slot and use a flathead…?

You could also try a pair of Japanese Engineer brand screw removal pliers. Knipex make non marring pliers that might work.

Them’s is hex to my eyes. The bottom one can be undone, the top one can’t.
Looks like hex to me. Torx bits can remove hex screws in a pinch but it sounds like you already tried that.
Perhaps try this. Find the closest, but undersized, bit you have. Place something like a rubber glove in-between the bit and the screw and turn. You may need to layer up the rubber depending on how thick it is.
I’d go with destructive means after that. Cut a slit in the screw head with a rotary tool and use a flat blade screwdriver to remove. You’ll need a new screw anyway.

For the damaged screw you could try unscrewing using long-nosed pliers to grasp the outside of the screw head.

Thank you. I hadn’t thought of using a rotary tool to cut a slot. I have a Dremel style tool. That would be the last resort, and practice first on a spare screw.
Placing tape over the surroindings as protection, then a bit of tape round the screw, and then pliers could well do the job.
Does look like a hex, weird.
Hex keys available in .5 sizes, might be worth going up half a size if you’ve one that’s a tad small.
I have a full set in metric and imperial. No joy.

No one asked why the hell do you want to remove the clip.
This is very far from being a budget light. I would not damage it although it may be too late.
Not everyone likes clips on their flashlights.
I never use the clips on my flashlights, so I remove them if I can.

Acebeam seem to be just chucking anything in their clips then? The one you can’t do looks like hex, the other looks Torx.
I’d have it out with them, they need to send you a pack of spares, free, and guarantee they are Torx. They really ought to send you a completely new clip too if that one is in any way scratched. You shouldn’t have to be dicking about trying to remove different sized screws and have to be asking other BLF members how to do it.

I assume customer service have been told one thing, and in practice it’s another. The online reviews show lights with screws just like mine. The factory knows what they are because they use the correct tool to assemble them.
I hate clips, they are uncomfortable when hand holding and I never use them. I really hate that manufacturers usually put those really tight friction clips onto the light. And usually you can’t remove them without leaving marks on the anodising. An obsessive concern, yes, annoying, yes. At least this one uses screws, which is much better.
If you’re taking it off and chucking it then I’d be grabbing that screw with some small mole grips or Knipex and twisting it out. Cutting a slot has its risks.
They do look like hex rather than Torx. They also look to be slightly chewed which could be how they came from the factory if they were over-tightened and that won’t help you.
At the end of the day it’s a pocket clip, that should be able to be easily removed by the end user. You might be able to get them with vice grips but then you’re probably going to have to replace the screws if you ever want to put the clip back on.

Okay I got them both out. I tried warming the light in water, and freezing the 1/16” allen key, no joy. So I used a diamond grit board to file down the allen key until it was the right size. It must be just under 1/16” i.e. 1.5875 mm.
Does anyone know the thread on these screws? I want to get two more, in the event I want to use the clip, or even sell the light. Okay, my ruler, loupe and eye reckon these are M2 screws and the thread is 3mm long.
It feels and look so much better without the clip. A beautiful light.
Then there is the lanyard issue, most people struggle to attach it. Easy with tweezers.

You might have tried this one already, but I want to suggest.
If one screw comes loose, remove that screw. Now try to wiggle the clip a bit (sideways, without damaging the ano).
This might work if the flat part of the clip is not perfect 90 degr. oriented with the axis of the screw.
