I have the K40M and it's still a great light. I can only imagine how much better it is with Vinh's mods. The parasitic drain from the magnetic control ring is negligible.

They are awesome lights. The build quality on them is awesome and the magnetic ring rotates so smoothly and the detents are very positive between the modes. I have no clue how the stock ones perform but this one throws crazy far for it being a HI CRI light. I took it out this morning and shined it out into the field i know and i could see things clearly out to 300+ yards.

I am just going to say I am shocked! Must be the 95CRI and the LED that limits the throw and lumens.

Totally different light[XML2],my Original Acemeam K40vn is 1450 lumens and 400Kcd,bought it in 2013.
