Yep, the center xhp35 does a nice job of rounding out the beam profile.

Recent Finding: Thrower LED when powered alone can not handle the high current and may literally smoke. When all LEDs are ON everything seem OK. Strongly recommend to always run light with all LEDs ON. At least this applies for Turbo. This applies to ALL lights modded or not.

I run my X70 on ultra low and I feel it is plenty of light for walking. I love the xhp35 in the middle because it allows me to know exactly where i am pointing the light. This flashlight still makes me giggle.

I think Kawiboy is over simplifying. Acebeam may simply be driving the xhp35-HI too hard.

Acebeam SHOULD have designed the driver as two different circuits. If they are all combined on one driver board there may be unintended interactions.

It’s way too complicated to just generalize. You have to troubleshoot every little part to find the actual problem.

I think Kawiboy is over simplifying. Acebeam may simply be driving the xhp35-HI too hard.

Maybe they were pushing the 35, maybe the buck/current spiked the little 35, maybe it’s own driver would of worked, maybe not?

Maybe the 12 heat generating monsters that surround this tiny little emitter in the middle weakened and cooked the little 35 and it went poof? Maybe not?

But I’m sure the EE’s and Designer’s with degrees at Acebeam will come up with a solution or band-aid… maybe…maybe not…

Could a would a should a just put the 13th 70 in the middle…KISStupid…

I wanna ask owners here, does anyone have trouble with the power switch feeling sticky when using? Button does not seem to be at all crisp and almost extremely slow to rebound when using? Got an X70 and came out of the box with the button stuck down, i kept pressing until it worked free however it is never felt anything but sticky/mushy if that is a possible way to describe this lol. Want to see if others have this or not? Thanks big time

I own several Acebeams including the x70 and the switches feel just slightly slower to rebound than a tail clicky. I’ve never felt the mushiness that your talking about but it does seem like you got a funcky switch from day one.

I own several Acebeams including the x70 and the switches feel just slightly slower to rebound than a tail clicky. I’ve never felt the mushiness that your talking about but it does seem like you got a funcky switch from day one.

Thanks big time, that was my opinion also that something is off. My X80-GT and X45 all have a very smooth switch with no stick at all this one is just like a mush/sticky feeling. It is making turbo slightly a bother to get into at times, I just wanted to know if others are having this issue.

Thanks also for confirmation on this, out of the box with it being stuck I dunno I had hoped it would just free up and work I am not sure what the issue is. I guess it going to go back and get replaced.

That i am not sure of good buddy, I was scared of using any oil that could work its way inside the switch and short it out. I do feel that it was lack of rebound due to something wrong with the e-switch. I ended up getting a replacement and the button on this one feels quite a bit better, and turbo is very easy to engage now.

For anyone wanting some form of head/lens protection the Lenscoat Hoodie Large Fits the x70 very good and stops perfectly with the front shoulder strap attachment point. It fits snugly but not to the point you spent several mins trying to get it on. Just figure I would pass it on, I have been liking these types of things since getting my GT70
