I had my X6 out walking the dog and noticed that the torch was alot dimmer than usual, and realized that the cells were likely in need of recharging. I then realized that this light’s driver doesn’t have any protection, and neither does my DRY-modded TR-3T6, both of which I plan on feeding LG 4.35v cells to in future. Those aren’t the most expensive cells but they aren’t cheap either, and neither the Trustfire 3-cell lights will fit protected cells like my T620 will. Protection isn’t an issue with my single-cell lights as they all have or will have 105C’s in them.
So, is there a place where I can find a small (preferably thin) voltage-based circuit interrupter that will open the circuit when voltage falls below 8V?
Alternatively…Could Zeiner diodes be used in this case? Find Zeiner diodes that reverse-bias at 8v and stack a battery of them in parallel to handle 3.5ish amps?
I have to destroy your dreams…
This even sucks harder in high current lights which would benefit from imrs but also would drain them to fast that they will die…
This does not exist yet, there are 2 and 3 cell drivers which have low voltage warning built in.
Not quite sure how to take your statement: either you've had a horrible experience with Lightmalls or you're only going to be buying the drivers from me.
