I agree with you entirely. I come from being primarily and initially being a watch collector. That community has seen a major change in its views on such things over the last decade. It once was very dead set against any kind of mimicking. Now there’s an entire sub community dedicated to modding that even makes its own counterfeit dials, cases, etc to make not complete fakes, but extreme lookalikes known as homages. True fakes are still frowned upon in most circles, but homages have simply become the accepted redheaded step child of the industry. I feel like knives should and likely will go that route someday in the foreseeable future. I see absolutely nothing wrong with these Ganzo, Land, etc as they’re branded as such. That’s my line. They don’t infringe on any copyrights, so as long as they’re legal I’m good. I’ve been kicked out of forums and groups for that belief.
How long a warranty do they provide? If you provide them a full description of what you’re experiencing, you shouldn’t even have to pay to ship it in. RMA or something.
But even still, if it’s like $10 to send in and that’s all the cost will be, that’s not bad relative to a $400 knife value. Yet… if this is something you feel you can easily do yourself, then just do it and make yourself happy. I’ve done this with some things I’ve bought that had minor flaws and DIY fixing was easier, much quicker, and gave me confidence knowing exactly what was done.
Btw, check out Blade Forums and see what’s talked about there on CR knives. That brand has a big following over there.
For whatever reason I’d rather keep it and complain about it, out if spite. If i actually liked the knife i probably would do something about it myself, but i don’t. So it will collect dust in my collection box and never see the light of day again likely.
my 2 last received additions
Petrified Flavorist and Zancudo D2
very happy with both
the flavorist is very nice, even if i tried my best but still dont like front flippers

I bumped into this brand of knives (Sanrenmu) on Aliexpress and remembered reading about it here on BLF. I looked for the cheapest one available (just out of curiousity and no real need for it) and found this model; the 7030(-LUI-PH).
Yesterday I was curious how one (a Sanrenmu) with a metal handle would feel like and if I would like a ‘flipper’, since I haven’t tried one far. I found two which matched these criterias and were more or less the same price, but I could not decide which one to buy, so I ended up buying them both!
Sanrenmu does decent work, though the cheapness can be reflected in the their cheapest models. =P
BTW, they also do OEM work for Spyderco, Boker, Ruike, and Real Steel. They are a decent manufacturer and can do great things in the right circumstances.
Time to give this thread a bump…
I’ve got this inexpensive Nakiri knife coming in tomorrow…

Hoping it feels light in use. Listed weight is 123g, which is significantly lighter than a typical Nakiri of this size, but still not as light as my cheap Thai Kiwi knives that I typically use.
