Wow! Neat idea. I’m looking forward to the beam shots.
Wow, now that’s a cool piece you’ve put together! Though I’m curious, why did you put the red emitter on the side? To me it seems that the red light will either be shining on your hip or off to the side. In my mind, it would make “more sense” to put it at the rear as a tail light of sorts.
Just curious as to why you put it where you did, there must be some neat use for it I’m not picking up on
wow this is very unique ! it looks very clean with an interesting combination of wood, metal, and LED electronics. great job on this.
i tried “on the side” before and i liked it, if you carry while red is on, all you have to do is turn the light so it shines forward, simple change of grip does the trick. not to mention 80% of the times red is placed on the floor\table,…… and it really does not matter where it is. side placement also allows for more room to work with.
i actually did what you suggest with my other light, same peice of plywood\polycarb.\plywood, installed red inside, and used middle layer as lens, it worked out ok, but beam is a red line, not an even flood i get from bare led.
another reason, i wanted something unusual, and original. i thought that should do the trick.
impressive result, nice job! I always like things made of plywood, aluminum and LEDs, whatever they are
Wow…that is pretty darn cool!
It really turned out nicely. Congrats.
I agree but its not finished yet.
It looks like a heavy-duty staple-gun that I have
Great work! The builds are starting to come together!!
very nice work, i really like the general look the usefulness and the attention in details. i think we miss here some nice photos when one lead inside sandwich material start to glow…?
got some more pics posted’
the project is done, finished, with small exception of beamshots, i will take them as soon as i get a chance to do it somewhere dark outside, indoor beamshots do not show real picture.
Really fantastic job, very well thought out thoroughly done. I agree it reminds me of a stapler. Will you call it the T-50?
Nice Build! The wood gives it an elegant look instead of the usual metal/plastic. Well done!
Again I say an amazing effort. The imagination you guys have and the abilities to execute your thoughts into a working object blows me away.
I like it!
This project is a great one - one of my most favorite this year. Now it would be interesting to get 1-2 outdoor beamshots.
Nice, very retro-ish design. I could see someone carrying it around in an episode of ‘Get Smart’.
new outdoor beamshots added
Thanks for the night shots. You light is one with the lot. How well does the angle heat sink work?
Nice, very nice indeed, I wish I had the skill and imagination to make one
Well done
