Alternatives to Imalent DN35?

I used one the other day, and the physical size and throw are impressive. However, the button (that one can neither see nor feel) is a complete and total dealbreaker. Mindbogglingly terrible design on the button!

Are there any other similarly sized lights with about the same amount of throw that have buttons you can actually feel/see? Open to 26650 or 21700. Prefer to have in-light charging.

I like the Haikelite SC26 a lot. It also has an illuminated button when the light is on.

Thanks. I was actually just looking at it. The only thing it lacks is in-light charging. Not a dealbreaker, but it would be nice to have.

Yes I like built in (micro USB) charging as well. You could contact member freeme (http://budgetlightforum.com/user/9773) and ask if he still has a code for a good price for the SC26.

I don’t have a column indicating built in charging but I made a list of all throwers above 500m. The DN35 is near the bottom number 65. Should help you sort out what lights are directly comparable

I haven’t completed my latest update yet but the Haikelite SC26 & MT07 buffalo will be added which are similar to the DN35

I’ve had a DN 35 and now the DN 70.
I think they magic lights for size with my Fav. “comfortable” sized battery in there 26650.
Those switches are easily fixed with several ways of doing
so.
1.
I abraded the rubber covers and dripped some rubber compound on them. Works reasonably.
2.
I scraped torch case above the switches and made
“mounds” with epoxy, several layers. so you can feel where they are in dark. That is better way. (for me).
20/450/1500 on R sw. 2200 on left sw. With voltage showing.
Self charging.
What is there NOT to like hey.

I agree the DN35 is a great light in every other way (looks nice, awesome compactness, 26650, good throw for its size), but I can’t deal with hokey mods that make it ugly like that. If one of the professional modders were to replace the switch completely, now we’re talking!

I bought the Mhvast TS70 im the groupbuy for 60$. Its a copy of the Thrunite TC20 and it even has a Neutral White variant. And it comes with the battery! I love it.

The DN35 is hard to replace. If you make a point in size, output and throw go for the D4Svn with white 1 or 2 from Vinh. Same size, battery, more output, throw, better button and much more useful interface.

Interesting option, but apparently only available in 6500k. I don’t really like to get anything over about 5000.

I have a 4000k XP-L HI D4S and it’s probably my favorite light that I own.
