They were Ever ready to leak! :open_mouth:

I don’t trust either Everleakers or Duraleaks.

I had better luck with Rayovacs and Rat Shack cells (older green-on-black, not as much the newer orange-on-white).

Ironic that alkaleaks were initially touted as superior because ā€œThey don’t leak like ā€˜regular’ cells do!ā€ because of the inverted-can design made of steel, but once cheapening got into the picture and cases were made as thin as possible… and then even thinner… they now leak more than old Leclanche cells ever did.

That’s why I put eneloops in anything I’m not willing to throw away. It’s such a pain to clean springs when junky batteries leak all over em.

So I just got this *desk in the mail and put it together. It’s sturdy because of the x frames, which is what caught my eye and why I bought it. Bought another one lol to mate up to this one for a work station. $58 after clip coupon. Normally $130. I’d pay $150+ for this at Walmart. VADIM Computer Desk with Storage Shelves, 47 Inches Home Office Desk with Bookshelf, Modern Simple Style PC Table, Vintage Brown https://a.co/d/chtHsdA

Just so y’all know I’m not full of it lol. Pardon the mess, gf is moving stuff around as usual.

Nice looking desk!

After I clean and rearrange my room, I think I want to get a sweet desk to replace my very simple (PC) card table.

Not amazon but eBay. $20 for a flip phone with 1 year of very basic service, good for emergencies or burner number - Tracfone TCL FLIP 2 + 1 Year of Service with 1200 MIN/1200 Text/1200MB | eBay

Tracfone rewards are pretty good, they have 10K rewards this month for adding a new line. Combine that with a referral and its pretty good deal.

Edit - If non amazon are strictly not allowed in this thread, let me know and I will delete this.

I've posted some non-Amazon deals before (in this thread), so I hope it's allowed.

A Good Deal is always welcomed :+1:

Ordered one today, can confirm the price and it looks sturdy! Can’t wait to get it in and build. Thanks for the post.

I am wondering if I can use this in the kitchen for keeping the smaller appliances.

Nice! You’ll be pleased for the price.

I used to be a Duracell brand devotee. But then about 15~20 years ago, I started having leakage problems. A remote control sitting around with Duracells in it, unused for a year or two… totally evacuated its innards. I figured OK, sometimes it happens. But then, it started happening more frequently and even in devices that get periodic use and most of the time in low load devices. I did an experiment. I installed Energizers instead. And in about a handful of devices, only one had suffered a leak… but it was a benign one—just crud on the cell, no liquid seepage into electronics. So if I need a disposable alkaline cell, I feel pretty confident in Energizer. I have had Rayovacs leak on me, but nowhere nearly as bad as Duracell.

I’ve had too many devices destroyed by Duraleaks. And when I wrote to the brand providing them photographic proof, they said ā€œGosh, we’ve never heard of this beforeā€ and sent me a coupon for my next Duracell purchase. Can you believe it? I think they trolled me. NEVER AGAIN.

I’ve used a bunch of the Kirkland AA and AAA batteries—hundreds I’m sure over the years. They are cheaper but if they’ve been in an appliance any length of time, they’ve leaked. The Kirkland batteries are made by Duracell.

The Kirkland batteries are the worst I have used for leakage. I bought like 48 each of AA and AAA cells a while back. I think they all leaked unless I ran them flat almost immediately and changed them. Some leaked after some time in the original packaging. I got to the point that I just disposed of the ones I had left. Will never buy them again.
Duracells have been bad too, but not to the level of the Kirkland batteries that I once had…

What cell size does it use?

The one that fits inside I would guess
