I was given one of these multi-function pens as a stocking stuffer. Maybe it was labeled as a different brand, but it looks identical. No doubt this is like zoomie flashlights where one factory, or perhaps a handful of separate factories all copy the same design and offer it under countless different brand names that come and go
$5 seems fine for it, and maybe it would be worth $10 for someone who really likes the idea of combining all those features into a package slightly larger than a Sharpie marker. It would definitely need better quality to justify the $15.99 regular price. Sure, it’s more solid feeling than a regular Bic pen, but not as ergonomic to write with. It’s less well made and less useful for any individual function than a normal flashlight, screwdriver, level, or bottle opener.
I’d have preferred it to be smaller and have the stylus always accessible rather than bothering to include the button-cell powered, direct drive, very cool white flashlight in the set. A Skilhunt E3A or Olight i3E is at least 20x better as a light. Since I have it though, and it appears to just be a 5mm LED, maybe I’ll swap in one of my remaining Yuji or rngwn emitters.
I’d honestly prefer even more if someone came up with a clever way of packaging a pen+stylus, machinist’s ruler, mini screwdriver, prybar/bottle opener, and maybe also the bubble level, so they stored together in a neat, even if slightly larger bundle or case, but were easily separable so they could be more easily used as individual, better made tools.
It’s not handy enough I’d carry it in my pocket, but I keep it in my work backpack, and do occasionally find uses for it…most frequently because we have touchscreens on a few pieces of equipment I work with that the stylus is useful for.
The suggestion from the product listing that it’s adequate for furniture assembly, and even more notably for outdoor survival are dishonest, to the point of recklessness in the latter case.
But if anyone is intrigued enough to spend $5 on one, go for it. Unfortunately, that particular coupon code seems to be expired.

It’s a good…thing that happens to include a pen. If there are smoother writing refills, please let us know! Mine has 2 bubble levels, a stylus cap which unscrews to reveal a tiny bit holder/screw driver, and the sides are graded the same as a drafter’s ruler/scale. The marks are quite accurate to “real” standard units, as compared to a steel wescott ruler.
Fully agreed, most variations are well worth the $5 for a useful chonky little doodad that happens to include a pen.

As a young boy I would have loved these kind of ball point pens, that was when we could carry twine, a pocket knife, and a fire-starting something like a lighter or matches in our pockets at elementary school. Consider giving these to some boys.

Maybe, It’s totally a gadget I would’ve loved to have in my youth. Now, I’d be concerned that they’d try to play the five-finger-fillet with it and actually get hurt, lol…

Honestly, if a TIR lens matched with an 18650 cell and an SFT40 emitter appeals to anyone, this could be a good deal.
