Wondering how many folks here are AP fans? I admit to becoming an addict, despite thinking the commercials made the show look stupid. I got into it despite myself.
Anyway, not here to discuss my other addiction to AP, but, possibly, the "stars'" addiction that fits ours. Anyone else notice that they seem to change flashlights like they change their clothes? They may not have "budget" lights, since they can write theirs off as business expenses, but they are, admittedly, cheap, so they might use budget lights. Anyone able to identify which ones they've used on the shows? (i.e. "How much of an addict are you if you can identify flashlights on TV shows." LOL).
Other thoughts:
Since I've noticed that the storm chasers are now advertising wiper blades, I would bet at anytime the Pickers will be advertising flashlights. Since they use them in jut about every show, its even more natural than the stormchasers advertising wiper blades. So, any bets on which brand will be the first to get the Pickers to advertise? :)
lol I love that show..I always laugh when they jam a light in their mouth..usually a mini mag..they should just buy a headlamp then they could actually pick with both hands..still a good show though and Danielle is hot ;)
I kind of like the show. The premise of the show is very cool but I find the guys to be among the most unlikeable people on TV. Every time I watch it I just want to punch them in the face. I still watch it fairly regularly. :p
I've never seen AP and the idea kind of annoys me that they are going around trying to buy stuff off of people for cheap. I like Pawn Stars, but those people are coming to them to sell stuff, so it's kind of different. Also like American Restoration, though I wish they'd go into a little more detail about what they are actually doing.
I love American pickers and storage wars. Auction hunters seems way too fake though. I always try to pick out what lights they use. American restoration is another great show but like Brted said, I would like more detail on the restorations. I quit watching pawn stars when I learned that chumlee is kind of a di*k and drives a maserati.
I know they each have at least a 1/2 dozen different lights and most of the time they are not using mini-mags, unless the TV messes up the proportions of the lights they're holding.
Agree about the headlamp, but the headlamp probably looks ridiculous on TV, at least I am sure those hams think so.
Love that American Restoration. Problem is that they are not going to give away ALL of their secrets, which is why they won't show much of the actual resto. work. That and the general TV audience finds watching someone work boring, I am sure. Afterall, it's entertainment, not an instructional video. I spray painted my first car after doing some body work on it, I would LOVE to learn how they are able to get such a shiny paint job with just laying on the paint. I had to rub out and polish my car for hours and never got anything as shiny as those guys can spray it on. And, no, I used bought a mid quality spray gun (pro quality was WAAAAYYY out of my range), so it was not a rattle can job, but I still could not lay on a paint job as nice as those guys and it was not for want of trying.
I am sure if we dug around the internet far enough we could find out. She's gotta have disgruntled boyfriends or girlfriends (depending on how she goes, have not been able to determine that yet).
