Yeah, but you can do the exact same thing with a jailbroken iphone. In fact that is how I'm on the internet right now. (Tethered through MyWi which creates a wifi network) I can control all of this from sbsettings, which is activated by sliding my finger across the top. I can also bring down intelliscreenx by swiping down from the top of the screen. Or I can double tap the top of it to get to multitasking.
I prefer the Android.
Dale, any reason? And was your iphone jailbroken? If you aren't gonna jailbreak it then a iphone sucks.
My disdain for the iphone comes from having to link it to your puter. I had so much trouble with my iphone and it just going berzerk on me… I would literally have to pull off the road… Set my puter up and reboot the phone. I now use the Samsung Infuse with the android os.

Oh, ok that makes sense. For me it's worth the trade off, I have it in a lifeproof case so it is basically indestructible.
Well I have a $15 Samsung Trac-Fone that I bought at wallyworld because I didn’t like my AT&T phone. It don’t even have a camera. And I don’t text much. But I do know more people have Iphones than any other brand. I would say like 3 to 1 difference vs the competition. Those that like all the features tell me the Iphone is the only way to go.
I like that the iPhone Fits your hand nicely, like a phone should. You're able to reach corners vs. larger Galaxy SIII, HTC DROID DNA etc. Although those would be better to play games on, when you're at home you can...
- AirPlay – mirror what’s on screen to TV, stereo, etc
- more high quality premium Apps and games
- iMessage – free, integrated. Notifies you when the other person has ‘read’ your text.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus = better screen than Iphone5
Can do all that stuff non rooted, (themes, airplay, hotspot, tethering, settings widgets, pulldown settings, flick up google now, read USB sticks, HDMI, etc)
plus it has NFC.
Plus there’s now lots of tablets and other gadgets running it.
I dont like Apple to control to what Im using my phone.
I’m using a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim through Straight Talk (terrible service, yes, but $50.00 out the door with Verizon coverage and unlimited everything). Has the latest android and you can have as much fun as you want. Great phone and can stand toe to toe with iphone, more or less. I just hate that no good cases are made for some of these androids.
But let’s not forget, a phone is a phone. It isn’t meant to replace a computer. I barely use all the features on it, but I now check email on it and listen to Comedy 104 with the radio app. So its growing on me even more. Really is cool. I’d highly recommend it.
In my Highschool, there’s actually more people with Android based phones than Iphone. And it’s not a money issue, they buy Androids that are just as expensive as an iphone. I know alot of adults have them for work sometimes, just because of compatibility and stuff like that.
One thing I’ve noticed about smartphones in general, is that non smartphones get better reception in basements. I’ve had galaxy 3, galaxy 1, iphone 5 come through my basement. And they can only get service right by the window. While I still have a full keyboard slide phone(waiting till 2 year thing) and I can get 1 or 2 bars almost the whole basement.
Smartphones are a great deal though. $100 for a nice camera that takes 1080p, an ipod, a mini computer, and a phone? It just blows me away that anyone would buy an under 200 camera nowadays.
Sintro, part of that is the smartphones are trying to get a better signal since they need to do more. With a few tweaks (from cydia) my iphone can easily compete with simple phones in getting service.
from what i can tell sbsettings is basically a power control app? if so, stock android has a widget that toggles wifi, bt, gps, screen brightness and more right from home screen, and it comes installed on all android phones. there are many task manager apps also you can download that doesnt involve rooting also
i may be wrong and misunderstand what that app is though

oh another thing, and ill admit that i had no clue about this before i went android.
i can buy a $15 odbII BT scanner, and use it with android. iphone needs a wifi scanner which if i remember correctly is around $100
can scan fault codes, read data from all sorts of sensors and more. being able to read the sensor values had actually saved me from buying a new MAF sensor

I will be picking up a Galaxy S4 when they are released in the spring to replace my iPhone 4. This is my 3rd iPhone (3G, 3GS, 4) and I have had all of them jailbroken.
Why the jump to an android device?
-micro SD expansion slot (32gb cards are getting quite cheap now)
-can carry a spare quick change battery
-use it as a USB flash drive
-read USB flash drives
-easy loading of music/podcasts etc (read this as NO MORE BLOODY ITUNES!)
-larger screen (I use my smartphone for teamviewer and Skype video at work)
-higher res screen (see above)
-customization
