I have a few (4 or 5) faulty old model Jetbeams lights like RRT-3’s, M1X and a few others. They where all faulty from new never sold.
I was hoping to fine somebody that could fix/update them in return I get one of the modded lights or one of my lights modded.
Interesting. I’m in SW Sydney, and pinkpanda is in Perth, iirc - I’m happy to take a look, but it really depends on what’s wrong. If it’s something as simple as wiring, not a problem, but if it’s a driver fault that isn’t immediately apparent, there might not be much I can do about it, unless Jetbeam have spares and feel like sending some (unlikely, though). But the overarching question is, can they be opened non-destructively? Unsure. The only Jetbeam I have (PC20) opened up easily enough.
I recently did a Wolfeyes Seal that I thought had to be opened destructively, but I found out after getting it apart that it was able to be done without leaving a mark on it… But that’s an edge-case, I don’t think there’s more than a handful of people that have done one of those. Fabbed something up to fix the look.
That said, I’m happy to take a look if return shipping is covered. If things are fixable, can talk costs then.
I know the normal RRT-01s can be opened non-destructively and the drivers are available for sale by jetbeam/niteye. It seems like it wouldn’t be the easiest thing because you have to reassemble the ring control, but there’s at least one good thread here about it. I’d link it but I’m on mobile currently.
