I have a friend looking for a good Dive ( Bright ) Light… He tried the newest Trustfire dive light & it failed miserably. Any good dive lights under $100 ? Looking for someone who has used one. Not one that is just posted as a dive light.
I always use Pelican or Ikelight. Anything that you use beyond 40 feet is like life-support equipment.
If you want to really be able see during a night dive your friend may need to spend more than $100.
I’ve been diving for 30 yrs. and my primary light is still an incan. Dive lights have been a little behind the curve on output, but definitely ahead of the Chinese lights on durable waterproof housings and switches. Your friend might want to start by looking at lights like this:

Going down to Santa Barbera for a few chilly days in the Channel islands next week. I’ve used a Pelican Saber clone called a Hubblelite 3c that has been host for several mods over the years and is due now to get an XML on copper in a big copper slug(usual layers of pipe and fittings) with a fairly deep op reflector. The hard part will be making up a parallel 2x26650 battery cage to fit. Might end up with the two cells tail to tail.
There's the Tryton light but it's a little over the $100 mark but pretty innovative. Here's their site http://www.trytongear.com/
The inventor came and discussed the light with us at some detail if any of you guys want to read some valuable insight Here
Doesn’t Uranusfire have a dive light?
