I only ask because I want the tailcap lanyard hole in a specific location, so I was wondering if anyone had used any shim stacks to get what they wanted and if so, where did they get the shims from.

i use copper spacers. filed to desired thickness careful if you use one for the head side. dont allow the positive post or spring to touch the spacer or battery positive to touch spacer. some battery tops are wide like the acebeam 26350. for that battery to work with spacer, iused 30mmx24mm hole. so basically3mm wide per side .got mines online. Amazon aliexpress
or go to home depot and get aluminum or last choice steel

Depending on the light — I’ve sanded a very very little bit off of a S2+ battery tube to make the tail line up with the label – depends which direction you need to go in

That’s what I was gonna suggest, light sanding vs shims.
Problem is, unscrew then rescrew, and chances are they won’t align anymore.
Had a bunch of lights where the bacon-in-a-triangle was centered on the head to align perfectly with the sideswitch almost like an arrow.
Unscrew then rescrew, and forget it, it’s a good eighth-turn “off”.
