*Anyone ever modded a Nitecore EC1??

http://www.thaipowerlight.com/index.php?route=common/home

Amazingly, they say it has an XPG R5……doesn’t mention the XPG2 at all! Hard to believe Nitecore won’t try to use this for marketing purposes.

Off-topic, just share some experience with Nitecore Explorer series

I accidentally dropped my EC2 from dining table height onto hard wood floor, malfunction after that and sent back for replacement.

Waited for about 2 months, when it got back found this to share with you guys

Cree XP-G2 emitter!

Box spec

Now I can feel with my eyes, there’re difference between Turbo & High now

Very cool! Guess I need to throw my EC1 down on the ground? (Is that what they mean by ‘maximized throw’?)

That’s great news, now I need to find a dealer with new batch, good price and free worldwide shipping…

That is awesome news! I've just opened a ticket with Fasttech to see if their latest versions they are shipping have XP-G2 in them or if they are still the older XP-G stock. I have an XP-G EC1 and might consider an EC2 if it has the XP-G2 in it.

I think I’ll open a ticket with price comparison to show them that their price is one of the highest.

You can try but I am betting they are being unfairly scrutinized for MAP violations where other sites are flying under the proverbial radar. You can put in a request for a non-MAP price. If you do that they will likely give you a better price than they can advertize.

I tried that, they refused. They won’t sell it for less than advertised.

Really? Interesting. :frowning:

Great news!

That IS great news!

Unfortunately stores with good prices (on Aliexpress EC2 costs about $50) have old batches with XP-G.

Yes, that’ll be the hard part, finding a store with new stock!

Since FT seems to get their high end lights as needed there is a chance the ones they are currently shipping may have XP-G2 in them. I have submitted a request with them asking about this. I’ll update you all when I get an answer from them.

Thanks JohnnyM, they’ll get back to you within 24 hours, right?!

LOL! Not lately. I’m lucky if I get ticket responses in 48 hours these days.

Same here!

Hkequipment.net has EC2 for $58, that’s $6 cheaper than Fasttech, Lightmalls $53,51, banggood.com is even cheaper: $51,19.
