I have this driver in a light but am having a really hard time figuring out how it works. Anybody here familiar with it that can school me on it?
thanks….
edit: never mind, got it!

Are you happy with it?
absolutely love the light - “18650” (Brad) sold it to me many , many, years ago. It’s an Ultrafire C8, modded with an XP-G2 dedomed, resistor mod on the driver, potted. Sold it to me for $20. I love a green tint. I love unusual UIs. This light is that …. and a keeper .
thanks for asking…

:+1:
Have that same driver in a light bought from the same member. (miss his great deals)
I had my Wife make me a P-Touch sticker for the head to remind me what driver it has.
It sometime will skip to a different mode and can be a prix to get back to what I want but is a nice driver non the less.

@saypat, this is a linear FET driver.
This allows for no PWM on any mode, slightly higher efficiency because of no parasitic drains via PWMing 7135s, and another very nice benefit.
You can actually vary the current output, meaning unlike with single channel 7135s where the efficiency stays the same no matter the brightness, the linear FET driver can vary the output current to the LED, meaning lower modes are quite a bit more efficient than with regular linear drivers.
TLDR: It’s a more advanced linear driver that is more customizable in terms of power output, more efficient, no PWMing the LEDs themselves, up to about 3A without cooling, and 6A with passive cooling.
Thanks BlueSwordM for the info. Not sure what to do with it however as it is beyond my knowledge
I bought this one modded and potted. Happy with it as is. But thanks for your post, perhaps another will benefit from it.
