Anyone got a FandyFire UV-S5 from Fasttech??

Hi guys,
I am tempted on getting one of these, I now that to be safe i should get it from CNQG, but the price on FT is very very nice. It looks very good quality, the fins look like the good ones, the lanyard and the box looks ok, not sure about the 3 terroid driver…
Anyone here can help me out?
How is this one compared to the ones from CNQG? And how much output is this pulling? Fasttech says 5.1A on high, but maybe they didnt measure it right or didnt use good thick leads or freshly charged cells, because i think it should go over 6A…
Thanks

Yep, I got one from Fasttech and I love it. It’s substantially brighter than my U3 3amp HD2010.

I love the flood, it’s become my go to light most times.

This is the model I ordered: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1057203

It DOES have the 3 toroid driver.

I have this black SRK 3 toroid driver
http://www.fasttech.com/products/1601/10003058/1234001
output is 6.7 A

It should be the same as the original SRK, not sure if the 37$ version is brighter, they measured more amps on the cheap clone than on this one.

I have the same one; works good, tailcap is sealed up with what seems to be about 4 ounces of red loctite.

Hi ,comfychair did you manage to get the cap off

No. I've tried two strap wrenches going opposite directions, heated with a torch (got it as hot as possible with the pocket torch I used, but it likely wasn't hot enough since the anodizing didn't change color), and finally gave up when I had it clamped in the vise and with a cheater pipe on the biggest strap wrench I could get, it broke the 6" cast iron bench vise. So anyway... just don't try to take the cap off, and hope nothing under there ever goes wrong.

Sorry to hear that ,what on earth manufacturers r playing at,if people couldnt mod the lights i dont think they would sell half as many,ps i still haven’t got the cap off the terminator either J)

I would actually prefer the black SRK from Fasttech instead of the Fandyfire, the Fandyfire has a lot of reviews on the FT page and the SRK does not….
But if kujan say that it pulls over 6A, this is good!! I may pull the trigger on one!!

Couldn’t stand it any more. Placed an order for one of these lights.

Since I bought my BlackShadow Termenator, I realized just how much I like the shape and brightness of these short, fat lights. I love tailstanding lights.

I didn’t know if I would be better off buying the FandyFire or a SRK or if there is any difference. I don’t have any gold colored lights so I ordered a gold one. For this low price, it won’t kill me if I don’t end up liking this light.

I have one of the early ones that is considered to be a “good” one. it was $42 I will say it’s very very bright. I’m talking about considerably brighter than my 3T6 trustfire. I was going to sell it and trade up to the U2 versions and then I started to hear that the one I have is actually brighter. Go figure.

Damm, I dont know wich one to pull the trigger.... :~

The black SRK, the gold SRK or the UV-S5..... And NW or CW...... I am so confuse..... help....

I think I have THE desease...

I'm not a 'tint snob', after all these are flashlights not studio/gallery lighting. But if it matters to you, a flooder light like this is where the warmer/neutral tints are most useful. In a dedicated long-throw spotlight, seeing the thing you're shining at is more important than if it looks pretty from 1/4 mile away.

I will add the temperature measurement after 10 minutes. (battery not fully charged).

I also have the gold f/t one, UV-S5 1057203, and also the black one from f/t 1234001.
These have very different tints, the gold one is much warmer, and seemed much brighter, but oddly I can see more detail at night with the black one, and that is the one I prefer now, but each are fantastic and I don’t think you will beat either for the cash.
I defo prefer the colder tints now though, but certainly still like the warmer one, plus gold looks better imo, to me at least.

Buy them all, then let me know the best one 0:)

+1…

Ah this is the warm white version right? Looks very shiny, got one comming also, can’t wait  You like the tint of it? At 6.7A it should have about 2000-2200 lumen with this warm tint i think…

So why is the cool white sky ray the same price as the Fandyfire? Are they the same quality? If so then why is the warm white fandyfire cheaper than the skyray? I don’t understand but according to the “popular” order on the website the fandyfire outsells it. Pretty confusing.

The Fandyfire (FT 45:money_mouth_face: should be the original SRK, so it’s with the old XML-T6, the Skyray thats more expensive (48:money_mouth_face: is U2 bin and not neutral white but warm white. I have not yet read anyone who compared the FT SRK U2 CW with the FT Fandyfire clone/alternative model, which are indeed both as cheap, so should be interesting if they are they same or not.
