Anyone know anything about budget CCTV setups?

Have spied this on FastTech:

Was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it, or could recommend any camera’s to go with it?

It claims 720p and BNC connection (rather than the new IP ethernet setups). I’m fine with this, but I can’t see any 720p BNC camera’s listed on the FastTech site. So don’t know what is available.

I caught a 4 camera version of this awhile back for $99. This is a 2 camera setup able to take 2 more. All you need is a SATA drive of any size and you can stream locally, or by wire to a monitor and even across the NET with free apps.

If you need 720P maybe this?

This one comes with 4 cameras and a 1TB drive

This is what we buy at the office, we have 14 of them…the 16 channel versions, with 10 to 14 cameras on each one.

What can stink is actually needing am image good enough to get an ID, and the camera for various reasons doesn’t give it.

This.

I'd be looking at an IP based setup. Maybe try getting just one camera first, & hook it up to a PC/Laptop. Plenty of free software out there.

Keep in mind that you can get different focal length lenses for the fixed lens cameras.

Thanks. I actually have 5 BNC camera’s already. That plug into a USB control interface and a PC. But The PC is shot. So was looking at alternatives, as a replacement PC looks to cost more than one of these units.

I know IP would be better, but if 720p is possible via BNC, then that would be more than sufficient for my needs.

The one on Amazon is fine, but buying it in the UK will likely cost way more than buying the one from FastTech.
