Anyone modded a Fandyfire Warrior with xm-l2:s ?

I bought a cheap one from FT but more power is always nice…

Really good buildquality compared to my SRK from WB that got replaced.

The SRK was brighter but I just couldn’t stand the formfactor…. And all edges was really sharp too…

At FT the xm-l2:s are about $4.50 each, decent price.

I was going to do that, but it’s not worth my time. The driver has to be pulled out first, it’s glued in. You have to disassemble the switch and unhook all the wires first. Next you need to poke a tool in through the switch hole and force the driver out, without damaging it. After the driver is out, the reflector can be removed by taking out the screw that holds it down from inside the pill.

Too much bother for me. Good luck.

You’re right, getting the driver can be a bit of a b*tch. I actually ruined my first one trying to poke the driver out through the switch hole…. live and learn. 2nd one I used strong double-sided tape to attached a disk of aluminum to the driver plate and levered the driver out that way. Some have also suggested heating it up with a hairdryer to soften the glue which is probably a good idea.

Anyway, 2nd one was successfully modded with XM-L2 T6 4C tint and I’m very happy with the results.
