Anyone on here collect coins?

After working in a Namco Arcade for a couple of years now, I have found myself becoming a coin collector.
I have a good collection of UK coins now (though I need a few still) but recently went through our reject bags and started to do the ‘50 states quarters’, and the later ‘Beautiful America’ ones, though I don’t have many of those!

So I wonder, any of you guys also do this? got any swaps? This would all revolve around postage cost (doesn’t everything lol) and that may well ruin it, ideally one person would have them all……… ideally!
Obviously if anyone in the UK has/needs any coins, just let me know which.

I have a lot of spare/duplicate £2 and 50p coins (all collectable) to swap with, or failing that I’d buy.

These are the ones I need from that first set (I’m unlikely to get them all from my work)

I have full collection of the state ones I got when they were released. Since started collecting my son one. Pretty sure his states book is full.

I’ll see what postage costs and try to look through my pocket change for ya. Some of the state quarters been out for awhile so finding a mint one will be impossible, I’ll look for some in good shape. I know US shipping stuff over there can be outrageous compared to what it costs for ya’ll to send it here.

Not really interested in swaps unless you just want to send something this way.

Thank you neo, it’s appreciated. You are dead right about postage, but it is doable…. just lol!
To give you an idea, a Lumintop tool aaa in a box costs £10 to send there from here, which isn’t the end of the world, but I’d hope there is a way to post a few coins in a flatter envelope/slip/box which could go in letter post and be significantly less. I don’t know how that would be sending here, obviously if it’s too dear then don’t bother lol. they don’t need to be mint, none of mine are  .

it would be like $1.15 - $1.36 USD depending on if you choose “rigid” envelope contents for <1 OZ (so ~3 quarters)

Yeah and he’s looking for 23. Flat rate box would be best but not sure if you can ship those to the UK. I quit shipping stuff and haven’t kept up with all the rules today.

Right now I only one I have on the list is maryland. Seems my son cleaned my change jar out of quarters last week.

Hehe, no worries. I did think postage may mess the idea up. I’ll just keep looking at work, maybe by the end of next summer I’ll be near enough to buy the rest off ebay, it’s not the end of the world lol!
Thanks for looking anyway :+1:

@ GOOSE I’m very interested in swapping, I’ll check what I’ve got on your list this weekend, never got into collecting the state quarters (I mostly collect pre 64 stuff which is actual silver) but I’ve got a coffee can full of quarters so I should be able to come up with some. My grandfather was an avid collector / trader / seller of coins and stamps so I’m happy to continue with the family tradition!

Just let us know what ones you find so we can quit looking. Might get a few of us together helping find them, ship the ones we have to one person, and then go overseas from there.

I ran to the store tonight and didn’t get a single state quarter in my change.

Thank you so much guys for your help  I did actually find another tonight, but it’s too late to check if I already have it, 2.23 am, just got in from work lol.
As for swaps, it’s a pretty good chance if it’s a 50p or a £2 coin I’ll have spares of them, apart from the non circulated collectors ones and rarest ones (about 10, most of which I don’t have myself) . I also have some older half pennies and others from UK islands, like the Isle of Man, Jersey etc.
Last year I found the holy grail lol, a kew gardens 50p - £130+ on ebay any day of the week! Not that I’d part with it!
Just let me know what you are interested in, you can look here -
50p coins
£2 coins

Well mark maryland and cali off the list. I find one more I’ll throw the 3 in an envelope, get your addy, and send them your way.

Ok just this weekend in pocket change I’ve got:
Original state seties: Michigan, Rhode Island

Beautiful America series: Michigan, Deleware, Minnesota.

My coffee can of change is in my locker at work and I forgot to bring it home Friday night, I’ll go threw it this week when I get a chance.

I would like to start collecting 1 ounce gold coins: Maple Leafs, Krugerrands, etc. Anyone want to send me some?

Best I can do is send you this pic of one, hope it helps!

Great comparison pic Canada, cause I know exactly how big a foutain pen tip is, such a relevant item today.

I’ve updated the list. Looks like untracked it is fairy cheap to post to the USA, sending them tracked is going to be prohibitive though takes it up to £8 , untracked is as low as £1.50.

If you guys find the post is too expensive please don’t do post them, it is just not worth it and I’d feel really bad too lol.
I can get mine into a ‘thin letter’ category (in a slice of cardboard with tape all over, no wrapping) you may also be able to get away with a letter size?I know contactcr said it would be like $1.15 – $1.36 USD depending on if you choose “rigid” envelope contents for <1 OZ (so ~3 quarters).
My limit for thin letter is up to 100g , 5mm thick, Minimum size: One surface must be at least 9cm x 14cm, Max length: 24cm Max width: 16.5cm delivery is 6/7 days is £2.30 or £1.50 for around a month delivery.
Looks like this would be doable, from my end anyway - and if you don’t want to swap I’ll obviously pay the postage up to about the same price in dollars.

I was thinking as I have around 20 old halfpenny’s if you wanted to swap maybe I have your year of birth if you’d like? along with some other coins too. Just let me know when you’re ready to go

Do you have a “Bicentennial quarter”? It was a standard Washington quarter produced in 1976 with a different reverse image and dated “1776-1976”.
They’re my favorite coin to collect, I have 2 full rolls and part of a 3rd, I could pick a good one if you need it.
Do you want me to see what all beautiful America series I have or just the original state quarters?

As far as trade, do you have anything from 1987? I’m not looking for anything particular, I have very little foreign coins, just like cool things.

Hi Cereal, no I don’t have one of those, that would be nice, ty. The beautiful America ones I think I’ll leave for now, as I need so many it will be too expensive. I’ll carry on grabbing those from work for a while, and when I get like halfway maybe I’ll ask again lol. 1976, that’ll be a tricky one lol, but I’ll have a check through. I have some ideas what I’ll send

Ok I’ve found more:
Idaho
Iowa
Kentucky
Missouri
Montana
Texas
Washington

Nice finding Cereal, we’re getting there lol! I have updated the list. :+1:

They made bicentennial quarters and 1/2 dollars. I have a couple of the quarters, only one 1/2 that I know about. I inherited my grandmother’s coin collection and aint had time to go through it.

no luck in the quarter hunt over the last week. Have only got 3: ozark riverways, north carolina, and cumberland gap. You want any hollar at me. Need to get your addy and I’ll mail em.
