Anyone recognize this red lube?

looks like a dessert!

Baby Buggy Bumpers…….

Lube with PTFE?

At leats that’s what I’m using

It looks like a typical red marine grease. I use the Lucas version (unrelated and much more reliable than the lighting products of the same name!) on my flashlights to get the nice tight feeling to the threads.

The marine grease is both waterproof and has a very high viscosity. It’s also perfect for polyurethane bearings on a car chassis to eliminates squeaks.

on my V21A the head is locked. I guess it is a loctite. maybe in yours the locking doesn’t perform well…

Loctite does have a rather distinctive smell, always reminded me of something from the fruit/veggie section in the supermarket.

Is that red grease the same as something like Permatex thread sealant sometimes used on motorcycles?

Thanks for your replies guys, I’ll check out some transmission oil and smell them. Others will think I’m crazy.

I’ll get myself some red loctite as well, or if I can get a sniff.

But how does it taste?!
You could perhaps have your answer in 2 seconds.

I vote raspberry. Whats the prize in this giveaway again? :davie:

USE of the lube!

It could be this, I have a tube of it. It also smells kind of sweet.

Thanks for your help guys, today’s Korea’s Independence Day, so every single shop is closed.

I’ll check out the products that have been mentioned and report back.

Don’t ingest it! It might be toxic. :Sp

Mehh, everything is toxic these days. :zipper_mouth_face:

Looks to me like permatex assembly lube. Smells like cherries, but don’t taste it
