Anyone tested XT-Es to failure?

I just realized, the little XT-E has no bond wires to fry, just like MT-G2 has no bond wires to fry. Has anybody pushed an XT-E to failure point? With no bond wires, the weak spot would have to be the die itself, and the dies themselves are incredibly abuse-tolerant.

i have a couple XT-E warm white emitters that i swapped into a couple lights, but haven’t really driven them hard yet to test them.

Triple XTE WW in a desklamp. 1A buck driver with PWM. It is never on high, maybe 700ma for 8 hrs. a day, every day, for a year or so. So not really pushing it. Makes my 40W cfl look sickly and dim.

I know they work, really more interested in at what current they blow up.

I have 4 of these…never really used em…but if they don’t have bond wires and are connected to direct heat path stars…I am sure you could push the heck out of em

I think they are wide angle emitters too…so they would probably make great flooders
