I’m more inclined towards FF4 of course, but it’s still not out! Cant wait for review… shootout with TK75, Blackshadow Terminator or TM26
lucky for me, I’m waiting to pay 1st/last/security to the tune of about $4k….so I’m not as tempted as I would otherwise be…
I think it is expensive enough to warrant most of us waiting for a review.
hopefully we don’t end up w/ a supply shortage, since there seems to be a lot of interest.
The FF4 like the FF3 and Polarions are a very different proposition to the other lights you quoted. I already have a TM26 and the FF4 should be a perfect complement to it. (TM26 in one pocket FF4 in the other, both small enough 8) ) but they are not IMV competitors.
I think most people that have ordered them will already have very nice lights in their collections. The FF4 and its ilk are not that versatile say in comparison to the TM26. You would not have the FF4 on the beside table, indeed it would be daft to even use one indoors. Though you could set up a tanning service with one :Sp if you did so often. :cowboy_hat_face:
For a fairly representative shootout against the lights you mention, take a look at the video by patriot on the RC40 it gives an idea of the differences. If the latest specs are to be believed then imagine something more than the Polarion’s output.
I would not recommend the FF4 as someone’s only or first ‘monster’ light.
nonsense.
if i buy one, that’s exactly where it will sit. if i get up at night, it is because there is an intruder. what could be better for blinding them?
few people NEED lights that are in this cost range. for someone buying expensive toys, the listed lights are most certainly competitors.
M8 if you think that an intruder is not going to get you while you wait for the FF4 to start up you are in for a shock. you obviously have no experience of HIDs indoors if you think that is a place to use them.
Again HIDs are NOT the same as the other lights listed get one and see.
you obviously have no experience trying to intrude on 300 lbs of dogs, or a mossberg persuader. I’m not in the UK so the HID doesn’t have to be my first line of defense lol
and you certainly have absolutely NO idea what I have experience with…but if typing that makes you feel manly…well, go for it keyboard warrior.
oh, and no one said they’re the same, but thanks for informing me.
I have a tough time understanding big words, numbers, and electrically thingamajiggers.

M8 you need help
now THAT I cannot dispute
And good question too. HID has its unique pluses esp that typically intense warm tint with flood and throw combined. Moreover FF4 size is so unbelievably compact with multi-modes sans strobe. But for longevity of bulb, battery power endurance and narrower beam capabilities, it’s LED.
What I’m looking at is the size of the light.
Although it’s a different class in terms of LED vs HID, the key is that how powerful a wall, or a beam of light, a “commercial-off-the-shelf” light with a decent amount of battery (4x18650 also for Sky Ray King, and Blackshadow Terminator) is able to put out.
for me, waiting is more about finding out any oddities.
like the last version having a whine that was somewhat fixed in later production
for me, this will be like buying a supercharged 70s stingray
it doesn’t have a keypad on the door, traction control, etc., like a more modern used vette, but it could be much faster in the right scenario, and the sex appeal is undeniable
ok, before another cpf type smartguy chimes in to educate me about the finer points of corvettes (which btw I have no interest in owning), thats not a great analogy 0:)
I am waiting for the FF4 to be released, and depending on the results/reviews, I might get it.
Original plan was to get the RC40, but frankly that light has been a huge disappointment. (Dated LEDs, not so great battery pack, marginal 10-15% performance increase from the TK75, much larger size, and much higher price.)
I am really hoping to see an update of the TK75, and/or RC40.
In the meantime though, if the FF4 comes along, and blows me away with performance, it will be the one light I purchase, to fill the "monster light" category for a few months, if not for the year.
