I gave a family member my S2+ 8 months ago or so and he loved it. Took it with him every day. Last week he had it stolen from him and I thought it would be a nice gesture to get him a new one….or at least a really good shape USED one. It was the Grey model, but that’s not that important.
I thought I’d ask and see if you all know any place that has them in stock where I could get one here if not by Christmas, by New Years. I know I’m starting too late for this now, but maybe someone out there can help me out a bit.
Any advice for me on where I could get one?

Now the problem is that nearly all of these places have the option where I have to select the emitter. I don’t know a thing about these different emitters. I read on one of them that the XML2 is 20% brighter than the XML….who knows? I sure as heck don’t.
I just want a nice, bright Convoy S2 or S2+ and I prefer one that has the low medium and high modes. I don’t think this guy would every need an SOS or Blinking mode, but it’s possible I guess. I’ve seen some of them that have 2 separate mode choices…you can use it with the 3 modes and then somehow switch it to the 5 modes. Whatever happened to just having a flashlight? It won’t be long till these lights will be sending the user an email every time it is powered on.
So, can you tell me what emitter I should pick? The guy that will be using this light is a construction supervisor so he will be looking at the insides of buildings under construction and materials that are coming onto the job site and so forth. You can just imagine the kind of things a light would be used for on a construction site.
I gave him 2 18650 cells with the one I gave him. I think I only have 1 extra cell now and I would prolly want to get him 2 cells so he can be sure to have both fully charged at all all times. Any deals on 18650 cells?
I PREFER neutral white light so can’t recommend anything cool white without cringing. lol Choose any XM-L2 LED or XP-L LED. Neutral white (4000-5000K) are easier on the eyes but, cool white (>5500K) are a little brighter.

WRT driver, the stock chinese driver is fine and the Qlite option (if that choice is available ) is great. For the three or five mode driver, (stock chinese driver) to change mode groups, on the lowest output, after five seconds, the light will blink once. At that point you quickly tap the tailswitch (to momentarily) turn off the light, and that changes from one group to the other.

WRT cells, what brand did you give your friend? Also, which site did you decide on purchasing from?
I was waiting on getting some input from you guys on what emitter to get so I haven’t bought one yet. It’s no big deal really, he’s not the kind of guy that is sentimental where he’ll be excited on XMAS morning. I’ll buy tonight or in the morning though.
As for the cell, I gave him 2 that I bought from a guy here that sold me 6 of them. He is a long time member here an knows what he is talking about when it comes to this stuff and I have had zero problems with them. They were unbranded, so I don’t know where they came from or what brand they were.
