Are P60's battery specific? 18650 or 26650 build

Are P60’s battery specific? I am building a couple of flashlights using P60 drop ins from LightMall. They are L2 P60 and a Ultrafire from Amazon. I would like to use a 26650 for the extended battery life etc. Thanks

Hi and welcome Funner. P60 dropins generally fit into 18650 flashlights. There are good quality 3500 mAh batteries on the market now.

Hey how are you doing man? And welcome to BLF!
Yes they are battery specific. I think most P60 drop ins are built for single cell. So either single 18650 or 16340 or 26650 etc. The input voltage is therefore given, for example 2.8V - 4.2V.
But you also have drop ins for a wider voltage range, such as 2.7V - 9V as is the case for this Solarforce drop in: solarforce.hk
This means you can use a single 18650, or two 18650 in series (as well as single 26650 or two 26650 in series). Although less popular, you also have drop ins for something like 2xAA batteries.
So you have to look at the voltage range specified for that particular drop in.

Thanks for the welcome’s. Ultrafire and a couple of LightMall L2 P60 26.5mm SMO CREE XM-L2 1800-lumen 3~18V 1 Mode LED Drop-in. My first P60 was a Amazon Ultrafire P60 about a month ago that I dropped into a Hellfighter X-15 that had a weak xenon bulb. It is bright now and I am hooked. I also ordered and it should arrive any day a Convoy L6. I picked up 5 P60 drop ins for from scratch builds.
