I would venture to Guess that if you’re a true flashaholic, this may be true. Doesn’t mean that we are all the time. I know I am , and yesterday was a perfect example.

I’m a very thorough person. But sometimes it comes in piecemeal. Which is not good when you make an important decision.

Did some research that I’ve been thinking about and within 3 hours my house was sold. It was definitely financially motivated and the feeling of being debt free.

I was pleasantly surprised with the services they offer and I really didn’t lose that much money if I would have went the standard way, a realtor.

Things have been tough the last year and a half or so. Now the home will be sold and paid off.
Another sizable loan will also be paid off. I’m going to buy a new car. And still have 150k in the bank.More :flashlight::flashlight::flashlight: money.

Haven’t decided where I’m going but I’m not buying another home. I’ve lived here 40 years. Time for a change.

I must say this is the most impulsive and life-changing decision that I’ve ever made.

So, besides buying a flashlight on impulse has anyone done something as drastic as I just did?

1 Thank

I’m not very impulsive.
I usually think about important things for a long time before making a decision.
If you don’t mind me asking, where do you live now, and where do you want to move to?
I’m just curious.
(You don’t have to answer my question if you don’t want to.) :+1:

Not sure where I’m going. I live in Maryland.

Actually I’ve thought about it a long long time. More than 10 years. A couple events happened and yesterday I just pulled the trigger.

As initially described, that’s a more than a bit impulsive. Going to assume that post-sale living arrangements are sorted or at least expected to be less of an imposition than home ownership.

Well, if you’re old enough, maybe move to Florida? :stuck_out_tongue:

I almost accidentally a new VW GTI in 2017 when a request for firm pricing at the dealership was misrepresented to be an intent to purchase the vehicle. To be fair to the salesperson, English was not their first language so the potential for misunderstanding was greater. But that was a fun conversation with the GM when they waylaid me on the way out trying to ‘save’ a sale that wasn’t gonna happen.

I think I’m old enough. Old enough to be on a fixed income through Social Security .

That’s one of the last places I live. We’re all different. Lot of retired people like it but I don’t like the hot weather. Especially Florida. No mountains no change of Seasons very very boring.

1 Thank

It is weather combined with no capital gain tax is what drives certain age group to Florida.

Sometimes but would not sell my place without knowing where I’m going to live.

Unless someone showed up with a huge bag of cash twice the value

I can’t disagree with you. I have until March. I have a friend down the road lives by herself and she said I could stay there if necessary. She has a nice Rancher and her hot granddaughter about 30 who lives with her. So that would be my emergency stop. But yeah you plan ahead ,the money got to me and my financial situation at the moment.

Yeah, I wouldn’t like Florida either, but for different reasons.
I live in a Southern California desert, and it gets crazy hot here, but that doesn’t bother me much.
What I don’t like is humid summers (or cold winters like Maryland.)
I hope you can find a great place (for you) to live. :+1:

Thanks raccoon.

Here is what led to my decision to sell my house. Two things. Maybe you’ll be able to understand this especially if you’ve gone through something like this but here it is succinctly as possible.

In late September my neighbor accused me of something I never said. Lie lie lie and said I would put a bullet in her head never said that . I said put a muzzle on that dog! She didn’t call the police for 32 hours . Where is the sense of urgency. In any event I got arrested had to turn myself in I was not happy long story short it got dismissed. The judge saw through her bullshit . Does she get in trouble no cuz it’s all my word against her word. what I said and what she said. The cop believed her. She lives next door. I’ve lived here 40 years she’s lived here a year. She makes me sick to my stomach.

The second event took place this weekend. Because of financial difficulties I got a roommate a few years ago. He was a great roommate quiet never home considerate paid rent early.

Saturday night he didn’t come home from work. Through investigating the next day I found that there was a stabbing at the restaurant he worked at. Initially the reports said the chef was the one who stabbed another employee. The following morning the updated articles said the line cook was the one who stabbed another employee. Police reveal no information. No surprise the hospital revealed no information no surprise I call the restaurant spoke to the manager and I said was Jimmy the victim? He said no.

My roommate stabbed this guy. I have had Financial difficulties. $20,000 of bills in the last year for my home.

How was I going to pay Mortgage in december?

His room is unbelievable clutter. It’s overwhelming it makes me feel uncomfortable going in there. That was his only negative.

So this fast cash place you can leave anything you want in the house you don’t have to clean the house they will help you find a place if you don’t have a place there’s other things they would do to help like pay the mortgage for January give me money for down payment on a new place.

My net is only $3,000 less than my neighbor we have the exact same unit. And they went through a realtor. No doubt in my mind their place was in better shape than mine which hasn’t had much work over the years.

I don’t pay Realty costs and there’s a couple other costs I can’t think of right now. Of course during settlement when I get my lump sum I pay them back. If I borrow money for a mortgage and security deposit for my new place. That’s the shortest version I can give you.

My aunt told me this 40 years ago. You can’t depend on anybody but yourself. I’ve had a lot of people help me in the past. Sometimes we just have to do it ourselves.

That’s the story. Between that and some medical issues over the last 15 months it’s been a terrible 15 months but things will get better you don’t give up and this all happened for a reason.

So want to move for 10 to 15 years and procrastinating finally has happened and circumstances I never dreamed of!:weary::pray:t2:

Oh Boy…getting the microwave popcorn.

Is this fast cash place established and have a track record of following through with everything they claim to do? For example how is the title transfer being handled and is the money going into escrow prior to the close?

In my early 20’s.

Here’s a good one. I was walking down the sidewalk with some friends and there was this shed on someone’s property right along the sidewalk with a really cheap looking old window, really thin glass. And I was like “I bet I can punch through that window”, and just punched through that window.

I only know the details of this event from what my friends told me the next day, because I lost so much blood I only remember a few seconds here and there. The window always wins in the end.

And here I thought my Intrusive Thoughts were a way of life. :joy::joy::joy:

I feel like that belongs in a compilation of words of wisdom.

In 2014 I bought my horse completely on impulse. He was for sale for small money as the owner passed away. I never knew the person or had much experience with horse’s before but I always liked animals so I converted one of my sheds with water and lights and brought him home in my friend’s jeep and trailer.
I still have that horse today hes called Jackson (hence the name of my account) and I donot regret it.

Geeez… never made 150k in my entire lifetime… poor decisions.
