Anyone here has owned the Armytek brand? Any feedback? There’s a Barracuda XML2-U3 on sale:
I own the XMLU2 version of the barracuda, and I'm quite pleased with it.
Excellent throw, good quality construction. The kind of matte feel to the light is nice - different from other lights, although I doubt it will hold up well.
Three issues that I have with the light.
1. Can't tailstand.
2. No knurling - if it gets wet, it will be slippery.
3. Price & support. Frankly They are priced somewhat higher than they should be, and the support if something goes wrong, is not great.

Today I compared my warm Predator xp-g2 2.5 with Solarforce M3 with xm-l @3A. It outthrows Predator easily on 250m range.
Pros: 2x cheaper
Cons: 2x shorter runtime.
I like them both.

And sure, wait for a new headlamp Armytek Wizard Pro
P.S. I’m pleased with my Armytek flashlights. The delivery is very fast without any problems. Customer service is also good and I get fast responses for all my questions

this is the similar conclusion I have reached ( i do not own any of their lights yet)
1. Why would you want to tailstand a long, dual cell, head-heavy super-thrower anyways? Normally tailstand is a must for me too. But in this case it doesn’t make much sense.
The benefit of the tailcap design, fwd clicky, and tighten-head-to-turbo UI is the ability to blast signals on turbo. Never had the need, but it is there…
2. Finish is matte/satin with a slight texture that aids in grip somewhat. No it is not as grippy as knurling. I have not handled mine dripping wet, but I did use in light rain with no issues.
3. Have had no issues requiring service, so can’t say. I agree pricing is a tad high, but they do have sales from time to time.
I want to be able to tailstand any of my lights, and many of the similar thrower style 2x18650 lights do tailstand just fine.
Why? Well, because I like to be able to put them down on the floor and use the diffuse lighting from the light hitting the ceiling. It's convenient to be able to put the light down, if you just need some lighting for the room that's somewhat omnidirectional.
The clear reason I see for them having the button that way, is that it is impossible to miss, and gloved, it's still very easy to hit. Yet I don't see any reason they can't imitate others in having partial access to a recessed button, similar to what nitecore/jetbeam and others do.
Totally get that. Like I said, normally tailstand is a must for me. By that I mean I have specifically NOT bought many lights that lacked the capability. Come to think of it, this may be the ONLY light I have that can’t tailstand lol
In the case of the Barracuda I don’t care though. All I can picture when I imagine it standing is it falling in slow-motion like a redwood. TIMBER! Noooooooooo! 
It would be a real pity to ruin that sexy matte finish.
I totally get what you are saying about “tactical” tail caps that can still stand. But I am glad this particular light does not have one of that style. I think the current design is very attractive for how clean and minimal it is. That is completely superficial of course.
