Armytek Nichia C2 Pro stuck in one mode

Hey guys, I have just received a Wizard C2 Pro, I have used it for about a day, I think it came fully charged because when I tried to charge it the light was steady green.

Initially I was using it in normal mode, I could cycle through the three levels. But now when I turn it on I can’t cycle through the modes. From off, if I hold the button it will go through two of the firefly settings, and then back to the “stuck” mode.

When I press the button, it is red, not sure what that means.

The tailcap is fully tightened. What’s wrong?!

PS: the manual is written in such atrocious English. I have to try to interpret what the hell they are trying to say. What in the world does “When the flashlight is in OFF state, there is a multicolor state indication.” mean?!

Charge the battery. It might be limiting the output if the voltage is low.

You might need to unscrew the tailcap slightly by a quarter turn before attaching the magnetic charger.

Thanks @TimMc , it’s strange because the led is blinking orange, meaning I have more than 25% of battery…

I don’t have the light, but it sounds like you are in the firefly mode group. See this page and area on advanced UI:

Thanks guys. I figured out that I was in Turbo mode, that’s why I couldn’t switch.

Unfortunately they have made some changes to the UI, so now that page is outdated.

I am not able to cycle through the main modes. Does anyone understand these instructions? They don’t make sense to me. I am only able to cycle through 3 modes in the General UI + turbo, I think two FF and one main mode, but I can’t access the other modes.

In Advanced UI I can access the 3 strobe modes, 3 firefly but only 1 main or turbo mode, I can’t tell which one. But in either case I cannot cycle through main or turbo modes.

I am starting to think that this unit is defective.

I don’t think they’ve changed the UI. And I doubt that it is defective. The Max is different in that it only has two fireflies. So if you’re reading the max instructions just be aware of that difference.
Is the battery charged at this time?
If it is not, you may not be able to access either of the turbo modes or even the highest of the medium modes.

Sorry I didn’t realize that was the Max. In any case I am not able to cycle through the main modes, I can only access one main mode. And the 3 clicks in Advance UI are not doing anything.

I will charge the battery and see what happens, thanks.

I think it was the battery that was not fully charged so some modes were not available. The UI is quite confusing but now it’s working.

Basically once you are in main mode you can’t go back to firefly unless you turn the light off.

Part of what is making it confusing is that you are fairly new to lithium ion lights.
Most lithium ion lights that have turbo will not access turbo once the battery voltage gets down to around 3.7 volts.
So when you realize you can’t access turbo it is time to charge the battery.
The manual specifies that the Amber battery indicator flashing every 4 seconds is 25% of battery but that is really oversimplifying things. The light will go from green to Amber a lot sooner when you are on one of the turbo modes versus one of the lower medium modes or Firefly. This has to do with voltage drop at higher modes. When I see the light goes to Amber when I’m on the first turbo, it’s time to charge the battery. It doesn’t have to be done immediately right then and there but at the end of the day it is getting charged.
The other thing that’s making this confusing is reading the general UI instructions and the advanced UI instructions. The advanced UI is so much better for so many reasons that you should just forget about the general UI.

Thanks for the reply. I do understand that the light will scale down its power if the battery is low.

However my problem is that I couldn’t cycle through the 3 main modes, I could access the 3 firefly modes and could engage turbo. That seems rather wierd because the 3 main modes should be available. I had not learn the color codes for the battery charge led but it must have been at least below 25%, but not below 10%.

With all that said I will keep an eye on things now that I understand how this works. Glad to have a 10-year warranty.

I have an “older” wizard pro v3. Double clicking while on will switch me between the firefly and standard modes, triple clicking gets me to the two turbo modes.

While on in each subgroup, holding the button cycles through 3 preset brightnesses per subgroup, except in turbo there are only 2.

A long hold from off defaults the lowest firefly, and starts ramping through all the groups.

A quad click from off gets me into strobe and beacon modes subset, and holding cycles that subset.

Here’s a text visual:

From OFF:
1 click = last mode used.
2 click = subgroup med
3 click = turbo group
4 click = blinkers subgroup.
Hold = ramping through subgroup low, med, turbo.

From ON:
1 click = off.
2 click = swap between subgroup low and med
3 click = turbo group
4 click = blinker subgroup
Hold = brightness cycle in respective subgroup.

If button is orange or red, med and turbo subgroups probably unavailable due to protection circuit, or only highest available current/brightness used.

If only one mode available, you might’ve left it in sub freezing temps too long. My wiz pro v3 did NOT like sub 20f temps, the switch stopped responding until I let it warm up.

That is true if you are in the general UI.
If you are in the advanced UI and you double click from the medium modes you will go to the Firefly modes.
If you are in the turbo modes or the Blinky modes you would double click to go to the medium modes and then double click again to go to Firefly modes.
