This light should have used a high-CRI emitter. Missed opportunity.

1 Thank

Thanks for the feedback! The ELF C2 Max WR uses a carefully selected emitter that provides strong output and balanced performance for its intended applications. That said, we’re constantly working on new solutions and exploring different emitter options for future models. Development never stops, and feedback like yours helps shape what comes next.

Enthusiasts want high CRI, the general public want lumens. We’re in the minority here.

Among the normal people buying flashlights, there is also a minority that does prefer neutral white and high color rendering. Though they are not the majority, they matter - I bet they outnumber us enthusiasts. So, for the love of that larger minority, let us not undermine our and their best interest, but keep asking manufacturers to do better.

Especially for a headlamp/worklight, color rendering actually matters for its intended applications!

Why can’t I buy any Elf C2 Max from the US store? I would buy two in this sale but they aren’t even listed.

Unfortunately, this specific model is not yet available in our US warehouse, which is why it isn’t listed on the US store for the current sale. We are working hard to bring it to the US market as soon as possible.
We’d love to help you with this, so if you’d like, please contact our support team directly at shop@armytek.com. We will be happy to check if we can arrange a custom shipment for you or offer a similar alternative that is already in stock in the US. Thank you so much for your patience! :raising_hands:

Wondering why there is no USB-C version of the Wizard, Wizard Pro, or Wizard Pro Max but there is for the Elf and Elf Pro C1 and C2 versions. Seems you’d make the USB-C version for the flagship headlamp first.

Wizards always were and still are magnetic charging only, maybe thats why?

I think most people would rather have USB-C than a proprietary magnetic cable.

Which Armytek Pro Max is right for you: Barracuda, Predator, Viking or Dobermann?

We came across a similar discussion on another forum and thought it would be interesting to start one of our own.

If you’ve been looking at Armytek Pro Max tactical and hunting flashlights, you may have noticed that the four models have quite a lot in common. They all feature the same generation of Pro Max electronics, two-button operation, active temperature control, 21700 battery support, magnetic charging, and compatibility with tactical accessories.

So, what sets them apart?

The easiest way to choose is to look at the beam and the way you plan to use the flashlight.

Barracuda Pro Max — maximum throw
1000 m / 2800 lm

Barracuda Pro Max is the long-range specialist of the group when maximum reach is the priority.

Its large, deep reflector and High Intensity LED produce a concentrated beam with a distinct central hotspot.

The hotspot is approximately 7 m wide at a distance of 100 m, providing concentrated illumination for identifying distant objects.

In short: the long-range specialist.

Predator Pro Max — focused tactical beam
590 m / 3000 lm

Predator Pro Max sits between Barracuda’s extreme throw and Viking’s wider beam.

It produces a distinct central hotspot for targeted illumination while retaining a classic 1-inch tactical body and compatibility with tactical accessories and the magnetic remote switch.

The hotspot is approximately 12 m wide at a distance of 100 m.

In short: a focused tactical and hunting flashlight for longer distances.

Dobermann Pro Max — compact tactical + everyday carry
460 m / 3000 lm

Dobermann Pro Max shares a similar beam profile with Predator, but comes in a more compact package.

It combines a distinct central hotspot with a body designed for both tactical use and everyday carry. The included clip, holster, and lanyard make it convenient to carry and use day to day.

The hotspot is approximately 15 m wide at a distance of 100 m.

In short: a compact flashlight for both tactical use and everyday carry.

Viking Pro Max — the highest output and a wide beam
355 m / 5300 lm

Viking Pro Max takes a different approach.

Instead of concentrating most of the light into a small hotspot, it uses a powerful wide LED and reflector to create a large central spot with wide side spill.

The result is a broader illuminated area, with a hotspot approximately 23 m wide at a distance of 100 m.

That makes Viking particularly useful at short and medium ranges, when illuminating a large area is more important than reaching the furthest possible point.

In short: a powerful flashlight for illuminating large areas at short and medium ranges.

So, which Pro Max fits your needs?

  • Barracuda Pro Max — for maximum throw and identifying distant objects.
  • Predator Pro Max — for a focused beam and tactical or hunting applications at longer distances.
  • Dobermann Pro Max — for a compact flashlight that combines tactical use with everyday carry.
  • Viking Pro Max — for high output and illuminating large areas at short and medium ranges.
Model Throw Output Beam character Best suited for
Barracuda Pro Max 1000 m 2800 lm Very narrow, intense hotspot Maximum range / search
Predator Pro Max 590 m 3000 lm Distinct central spot Hunting & tactical use at longer distances
Dobermann Pro Max 460 m 3000 lm Distinct central spot, more compact Hunting, tactical use + everyday carry
Viking Pro Max 355 m 5300 lm Large hotspot + wide spill Short/medium range, large areas

There is no one-size-fits-all option here. Each model offers a different balance of throw, beam width, brightness, and portability.

If you’re still unsure which one fits your needs, tell us how you plan to use your flashlight and what kind of beam you prefer — long and narrow, focused, or wide. We’ll be happy to help you narrow down the options.
