Armytek

Hey guys, Looking to buy a few of these. How do these guys compare to Olight, Fenix, Klarus, Nitecore, Night Provision, Thrunite,

Please advise.

After Predator pro 2.5 is down the hill imo.
Mike

Never pay full price. Looks for sales, clearances etc. They treat their dealers like crap you so can usually find them cheap as shops dump inventory.

what model?

A few different ones. Like Predator, Doberman, Viking Pro Versions.

Not really man. I have checked around. Most are still have MSRP on most online websites. Just want to add more to collection if quality and price is good.

I have Viking Pro 2.5 and it’s been a great light. Not as bright as some of the newer models.
I have had several Primes and Headlamps. One Prime Pro AA had issues and Amytek resolved it.

There was sale that ended 4-1. I missed it buy minutes of its end. I believe there were some Predators for $50.

Have you checked

Andrew and Amanda. They are reasonable to deal and accept best offers.

I have also bought them from Killzone and Night owl gear. Killzone takes offers.

I don’t think I ever paid full price.

Thanks for replies guys. I am looking to buy if prices are good. Also looking for 1000 lumen plus for tactical lights. As far as search lights. Hopefully something comparable to my Tiny Monster 028.

I would also like some reference about this brand. Everytime i read something about Armytek lights, there are two topics mentioned:

1, Anodization can be scratched just by looking at the flashlight
2, Quality control issues

The drivers of Armytek lights are great when people don’t have problems with them. They have lots of modes including moonlight and are often buck-boost or boost drivers which allows for better regulation and better performance in cold temps. They also have over-discharge and overtemp protection. This means you can use unprotected cells in the Single-Cell lights, which is cheap and allows for the best performance.

Their drivers are potted which increases robustness. They also have stainless steel bezels. The headlamps have what is probably the best holder on the market (the newer plastic one).

The LEDs are also screwed down or fastened with rivets for high robustness.

The anodization quality is probably on par with other Chinese flashlight makers. It’s much coarser though compared to most lights. This might be the reason for more scratches.

So where do all these quality issues come from then?

i have three armytek lights (prime a1 pro, v2 wizard pro, v3 wizard pro) and never had problems with them :sunglasses:

Lucky you. I dont have a single one, but even our local dealer said something like “earlier models had issues”.

You might have to be patient and wait for a sale, but between AT own promos and dealer sales you can usually find good pricing. AT does not enforce MAP and undercuts dealer pricing on a regular basis. They also like to make minor tweaks to a model, ie a different emitter or adding a new feature. They do this without warning forcing “old” stock to be put on sale to move it.

For some reason they always get recommended over at reddit. Lots of reports of cracked lenses for no apparent reason, drivers quit working, and not great customer service. They do eventually take care of the problems, but require you to pay the shipping. Not a problem if you’re from Canada, but everywhere else, shipping isn’t cheap.

The cracked lens issue was specific to the XHP50 Wizard Pro V3. Armytek addressed it by adding a second o-ring on the other side of the glass, and since then reports of cracked lenses have pretty much stopped. Armytek’s anodization is easy to scratch. If you install one of their pocket clips, it will scratch the light badly, and your light will look used if you actually use it. It also has a very nice texture that many people like, so it’s not all bad.

Armytek’s customer service sucks. I’ve never had so many issues getting in touch with a company that is supposedly operating out of North America. They have an office in Ontario, but in reality the owners are apparently Belarusian, and I’m pretty sure all their customer service/social media people are based in China. I’ve had some truly bizarre experiences returning items even though I could drive to them in an hour. Customer service is probably the biggest complaint about Armytek, but as long as you are persistent they will eventually come through, especially with warranty claims.

I still use my Armytek lights every single day because they are well made, have a nice UI and buck/boost drivers with fully potted components, and are spectacular hosts for Nichia mods. I have a quad E21A Wizard Pro with an 18350 tube that is probably my favourite light right now, and my 219C Prime C1 Pro also gets plenty of use.

I love the Wizard pro. Been using one daily for years now. Switch died, and armytek sent me the newest xhp50 model to replace! Same with my predator pro. When it malfunction they replaced with newer model. At no extra cost to me

Thanks guys for info. If I get get good price I will buy a lot of them.
