I was wondering if anyone has tried a aspherical lens on a recoil light such as the ultrafire WF-008. Seems like it would help but im a newb. Thanks
Won't work. The LED will be up against the lens right where the focal point is for the light is. The reflector in a recoil has a focal point far away form the front of the light so that the emitter and mount are not seen in the beam.
I don’t think it can help, the aspheric redirects the light beams coming from a single spot (or the most similar to a spot you can find) in the focal point making them parallel. As the beam coming out the front of the recoil are already parallel, and not coming from a singe point but from all the mirror (it makes an apparent image of the sensor the size of the mirror) I think the beams will be diverged, and you will get an ugly beam with less throw
But the best way for lazy people like me (which don’t want to study a physic degree just to play with flashlights) has been always trial and error :), so try and tell me
Oh ok i just thought i would see if anyone tried. Thanks for the reply.
I will order the aspherical lens if someone can measure there WF-008 and let me know. I just ordered one from DX and wont be here for a while.
