Anyone else having the problem that the S41:
- Won’t go off.
- Won’t change modes after being in high.
- Shows in general stubborn behavior when changing modes, pressing certain amount of time,…
I think I recall the same problems have been reported with this same driver that’s been used in other Astrolux flashlights.
And there’s a recent thread on S41 repair too.
Not sure what to tell you to search for to find it. Someone will know.
Describe what you can see of the driver to help people identify what you have.
Have you tightened the retaining ring that holds the driver in place? And the one on the tailcap switch?
And cleaned the threads? All those are worth checking.
Have you removed the tailcap and tried tapping a wire between end of battery and battery tube to make/break the circuit independent of the tailswitch?
You mean it does not turn off when you click the tails witch?
Then the problem lies there.
I just received Astrolux S41 from banggood (A6 Firmware). Does some REALLY weird things after it trips the turbo timer.
What I assume it does is shorten the long half press to like 0.1 seconds instead of the normal 0.5 seconds (to go backwards instead of forwards). So when the light gets hot and clicks down to medium mode you can only go backwards, low, turbo, then to flashy, blinky, stroby, back to low, turbo, flashy, blinky, stroby, low, turbo. To get back to medium or high you have to just half press so damn quick, like just smack the button.
If I unscrew the tail cap to cut the power then screw it back on the light behaves perfectly normal until it trips the turbo timer again. Looks like a bug in the firmware?
I know it’s not temperature related because I put the light in the freezer overnight, dropped in a battery then did the tests again.

Your problem is caused by the driver m8, change the caps if possible,and resolder the attiny 13 joints
Its aint a firmware bug but a producer one: MANKER/ or lately its clone company behind Astro
TK firmware is flawless, i made tons of S2s/As/C8s/X6s and others with the same or nearly the same modded TK firmware and they work like champs
Yet when one uses crap driver components the result is as you described
