What do you see in this light? The 2 cell driver?
6 volt, not 8.4 volt, I mainly see it as interesting, I like the look of the light and I seem to think I’d decided the reflector was interestingly big, that and it looked like it could be had cheap so no great loss if it turned out to be crap.
I mainly see it as a mod host that’s different to most of what else is out there, its very unlikely that either the driver or emitter will remain as they are now, although what ends up in there I really cant say, I’ll probably try both an xp-g2 and a dedomed xm-l u2 and see what I like.
driver wise, I still have one of the good ios ramping drivers, maybe this’ll be the lightit gets used in.
What do these look like internally? Do they have C8 pill structure? (16mm star, 17mm driver)
dont have a clue, I dont think its one thats ever been reviewed and even if it has, its highly unlikely this will be the same animal.
it worked out about £7.50 for me, thats less than a pack of mrs gords smokes, I’m not too worried either way tbh, it seems to be comparable in size to a c8 and xr-e reflectors tend to play nice with xm-ls so I’m sure something can be made of it.

It definitely appears to be another C8 type variant that uses the same reflector.
I have a leftover Nanjg 8x7135 that I was thinking of buying a host for. If this would accept it, and all I’d need to buy be a copper-sunk XM-L2 I’ll be that much poorer in the morning.
I know I will somehow be able to get a nanjg in there if I wish.
gj, I see that on the description but I’ll plat fog if its actually true, why would you want to use two puny 16340 cells in the place of for arguments sake a Panasonic pd? I think its more likely its like many of the solarfire hosts, one 18650 cells or two cr123 cells, iys tacticool innit? :bigsmile:

Mine arrived, I like it.
Had a horrible donut hole in stock form because of a insulator ring, next mode memory and a pill made of transparent aluminium. It’s an ultrafire x8.
I removed memory with a pencil, removed the insulator disc and played a bit.
Hotspot is about the same as a dedomed XML c8.
It is a bit smaller than a c8 and I really like how this looks. Reflector is not the same as c8, you can see on my comparison photo it is shorter It’s a nice pocketable light.
I also like the wide flat GITD oring between bezel and lens…
How did you remove memory with a pencil??

In this case I just unscrewed the head and wrote two or three times over the capacitor. That’s what a hollow pill is really good for :bigsmile:
I got mine, and it’s about the ugliest light I own. The silver looks like it came out of a cheap 1960s sci-fi movie. The first thing I did was throw it in the oven for an hour. Nothing changed, in fact I think it’s even silverier. I love the way the emitter is pressed in with no pill under it. I can’t even be bothered to mod this light with old used parts because I would be embarrassed to even give it to someone. I wouldn’t want my reputation besmirched by this ugly abortion.
It looks indeed like scifi, especially the tailcap…
The switch needs some attention as he adds massive resistance, driver puts out around 1.8A,0.8A,0.19A @4V not bright but it throws like a xre in a bigger reflector :bigsmile:
And it is not suitable for two cells, current goes through roof above 4 V and the led colour changes to blue 
But I like the form, colour and size
I am not sure what I will put inside.
Would a overdriven XPG make sense? I have some high cri Xpgs laying around and and a xml2u2 which I planned to use on the copper pill convoyc8…
I got mine too but not had any chance to really tear into it. I like the form, just not the execution, I’ll mod it, not decided how yet but I will, I do find it nice in the hand so it may become a jacket pocket light once the issues have been dealt with. A hard driven emitter would make a great hand warmer considering the body tube is the heatsink……
