Bad drop ins from IO

Just received two dropins from IO and both are defective. The cool white only has one mode

and the neutral white has no memory. I already emailed customer service but havent heard

back.

Received an XM-L2 T4 5B1 3-mode drop-in two days ago with no flaws, working fine in my L2P, cannot say anything bad about it, my first Hi CRI, I love it.

No need to worry trigger 619. IO usually answers fast and have based on my experience, the best and fastest service.

But its weekend....

If there is an issue like that, videos are normally very helpful. I take pictures or make videos by default...

Speaking of which, I have a faulty JetbeamI4 charger. Its one of my 4 chargers bought from WB. I have made videos. Time to test Wallbuys customer service for real.

And then there might be a missing piece in my Roche F8 that I got from CNQ.. I have waited a week for an answer... But no reply. :|

I had a light that was built (by someone else) using parts from IOS, including one of their 3.5 amp drivers, and I had ordered a L-M-H mode sequence, and what the builder got initially was H-Strobe. Hank sent him a new driver with the correct modes.

I’m assuming that their dropins are using their drivers, and the drivers seem to be almost custom built, firmware-wise, so that’s probably why you got the wrong modes.

ordering circuit driver and CREE XML U2 at may until now never arrive from IOS |(

Same thing happened to me, with a couple of emitters on Noctigo and a driver, shipped via Singpost. Email or PM Hank. It seems like he waits for about a month, but then, in my case, after I bugged him, he finally agreed that the shipment was “stuck” and re-shipped via HKPost, which arrived in about 2 weeks.

I received 5 105C drivers with one mcu DOA (no modes, just .63mA). Shorting Vin to Vdd revealed the chips were fine just a bad processor. There are so many that some bad ones are bound to end up in drop ins as well.

you bought 4 chargers from WB?

wow.

feel free to share videos (post, pm, ..), thanks!

hank replied and we'll see what i have to do. I just hate having to return stuff.

I'm had a lot of bad luck lately. I also just got a convoy S4 form FT thats doing the same. mode sometimes dont change -no memory.

I'm also waiting for an airforce condor ss .25 that the valve malfunctioned after 2 weeks of owning it.

Sometimes modes don't change is because the way those driver are programmed, you need to do it very quickly if you stay too long when you change the mode, you simply get the same mode again, can be confusing.

I recently got the recently introduced on IO. It is the QLITE XML2 High CRI version I got. First time I inserted it in my L2p it didn’t seem to work. Then I realized the plus pole spring a bit too short. Replaced it with a taller one and now it works without problems.

I've tried switching it fast and slow and i get the same result. I've tried half press and full. It'll loose memory randomly. Its just a little anoying that i have to cycle thru the modes. Hank Wang was pretty quick to respond

and i would do business with him again. Dx took months to get anything done and i havent bought anything from them

ever since.

Same thing here! Ordered a few 20mm Noctigons in May that never arrived.

Complained to CS through the system and then, absolute silence. I don’t think the ticket system in IOS does anything at all. There’s no way to check status etc, it’s just a simple one-way message posting system. There’s no reply to my registered email as well.

When you mentioned you bugged Hank, did you use BLF PM? I need to contact him. IOS guarantees delivery, which is why I didn’t open PP dispute, but it’s kinda biting me in the end now.

My IO drop-in goes to single mode if I tighten the host down too tight. Annoying but in some hosts that apply less pressure it’s fine.

Obviously the reflector shorts the + & - leads of the LED.

Hi,

Yes, I used both PM and email. I think he actually responded to my emails though.
