Batteries and Convoy s2+ help

Hey guys

Need some help and advice

I’m new to flashlights and have ordered two convoy s2+ lights with 8*7135 configurations.

What batteries do you reccomend?

The flashlights will very rarely be used on full power.

I understand for a newbie like me protected batteries are the way to go which leads me to another problem. I have read a few conflicting posts about what fits and what doesn’t.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have Samsung 26FM protected batteries in my S2+ and they fit.

Cheers

The ICR18650 2600mah ones?

Hey mate even my longest batteries fit inside the S2+ i just tried the NCR18650b no problem and i have a spring bypass done.

How much do you want to spend?

Sanyo NCR18650GA is the best choice for lights like Convoy S2+. Using unprotected batteries is perfectly fine in single battery lights with built-in battery protection function.

You will want protected battery for lights with more than one cell in series, or lights without built-in battery protection function.
You will want a high drain battery for high power flashlights which draw substantially more than 3A required by S2+.

There are two parameters you have to look at:
(1) Capacity (mAh)
(2) Continuous current (A)

Sanyo NCR18650GA has the highest capacity currently available (3500mAh) and more than enough continuous current (10A) for a light like S2+ which draws 3A.
