ok i bought some tenergy cells to replace some red ultrafires i used in my jetbeam, problem is the tenergys are a bit long, and the spring is damaging the negative contact of the cell, the tenergys are like 1mm or 2 longer than the UF. So my question is, is there any where i can find the lengths of batteries?
Look for a review by HKJ, he always lists the length in his reviews.
just looked a HKJ’s thread over a cpf, and i also measured the cells myself, the tenergy is about 1 mm longer than the uf, and that 2mm makes such big difference on a 2 battery light. in case anyone wants to know, the tenergy 18650 with button top is 69mm tall, and fits tight in a bc40, enough to damage the negative side of the battery against the spring
You can also find my tests here, we have a battery test subforum where they are collected.
Another possibility is my website where I also publish everything, there a 3 generations of battery tests.
The length is included in the individual reviews and in a bar chart in the summary.
You could always snip a little bit of the spring off if you wanted to use the Tenergy’s. Maybe they’ll come in handy in a light that doesn’t contact with flattops…
