On a trip to Mexico this last december, I thought I’d take advantage of the great scenery and take some simple beamshots just for the fun of it.
The distances are rough estimations from trying to find the tips of the mountains in google maps.
First Area Long Exposure (Flashlight OFF)
This is a long exposure of the first area to give you a sense of the distances between the buildings and the hills. I would have taken it during the day, but I completely forgot. There was a full moon.
Beamshot #1
Now, here’s that same place with the X6 on. I was aiming for the hills in the distance.
The camera settings are at ISO 80, F/2, and a 6 second exposure.
Map of Beamshot #1
I used google maps to tilt the view and find where the peak of the hills were. Then I used the built in tool to estimate the distance.
Second Area Long Exposure (Flashlight OFF)
This is a long exposure of the second place for the same purpose of giving a sense of distances.
Beamshot #2
And here’s that same place with the X6 on and the same camera settings as the first beamshot. The hill behind the palm tree is what I was aiming for.
Map of Beamshot #2
Once again, the distance estimation.
Thanks for viewing!
