I apologise if this is a regular type of post, but I was hoping for a couple of relatively quick answers.
Just bought a Thrunite TN4A and a Ti2 and a Ti3, all of which are en-route from Amazon UK, due to arrive next week supposedly.
I have a few rechargeable AA’s of varying types, some of which are standard-ish Amazon fayre, others are between 2100-2400’s from 7dayshop.
Will these do for my TN4A? Or should I splash out on another set or two of - say - Eneloops?
In which case, could somebody point out the best AA and AAA batteries which provide a decent balance between cost and quality - either for sale from a UK based seller or maybe the far east (I’m not in any hurry, the AA rechargeable batteries I have at present will do for the time being, seeing as we have light nights at this time of year, plus I already have a few normal AAA’s kicking around for a gadget my wife owns……)
I have a couple of simple chargers already - nothing fancy about them. As I recall, they turn off when batteries are charged.
In my experience the best AAAs are Duracell (750 or 800mAh), Eneloop and Panasonic750. For AA, Duracell 1700, Eneloop (again) and Varta 2100mAh lsds. In the second rank I’d place Tronic lsds (good performance and cheap - £3 for 4) and Energizers.
Some people on this forum also recommend the likes of Ladda (Ikea brand) and Amazon’s own brand although I’ve never tried them myself.
Those to be avoided like the plague include high capacity batteries such as BTY1000 AAAs (150-250mAh) as well as their AA offerings (labelled 3000 but only 800mAh). Don’t bother with Pound store offerings either: they’re capcity is too low even though they’re dirt cheap.
