That JKK35 is quite interesting and also quite underrated IMO. Itt runs with 7135 based driver and has plenty of modding potential, not to mention that it can also serve as a powerbank!
Well did somebody check if that JKK35 has real Cree XM-L2 emitters inside or fake ones from LB? I seriously doubt that such a light will make real 2,800 lumens out of the box. Better get an L6 for 50 bucks. Or cut to the case and get a Jetbeam T6, I got one when it was on sale for under 100 USD and I´m quite happy with it. A real > 4,000 lumens light.
Supfire M6 from MTN is an obvious choice for a beer can light. With the available upgrades it will get around 4000 lumens but will be $90 with the upgrade.
The stock SupFire M6 from MtnE for $40 is probably more lumens than the stock JKK35. The Q8 though will be the best deal in the group buy, and should be a min of 4,500 lumens, availability though....
Hmm. That SupFire M6 looks pretty good too.
4000 lumens is not a hard and fast “requirement” per se. Just kind of a general benchmark. i.e. Id like more than 2000, but dont need 8000.
I went ahead and signed up for the BLF Q8. I wonder what the timeframe on that will be? Years? Months?
Around 50 dollars your only option us really the convoy l6 with the cool white emitter puts out 3500. The s70 is underatted at 3k some people get around 3300 and some over 4k lumens stock but its $70. Beer can lights of that power are around $100. There’s a coupon code on blf for the jkk35 that still works on bangood that lowers the price a little bit. That will probably be my next light in the future and will have more chips added to increase power to at least 3k lumens. Good balance of power and run time. I found s thread where people guessed by the current output of like 2.2 amps to each led the light would make around 2400 lumens out the front
Thrtr is the new courui d07 light that was released with the xhp 70 and 5000 lumens for around $79 I believe http://m.banggood.com/COURUI-D07-CREE-XHP70-4Modes-5000LM-Super-Bright-LED-Flashlight-18650-p-1075199.html
Good thought on that D07. A bit pricey but similar form factor as the JKK with more power. I could use my existing 3x18650 flattop/protected batteries too, since they crammed into the JKK18 similar battery holder.
I categorize my flashlights into two groups, one at sub 2000 lumen and the other group over 2000 lumen.
In the higher range I use the Convoy L6, and in the lower range I use the Fenix PD40 and Manker U21. My edc are two ZebraLights the SC600 mk3 and H600Fd Mk3.
