Best brightness/flashy mode interface

I have gotten into flashlights over the past 2ish years, and this forum has been incredibly helpful to me as I am most impressed by quality, budget-minded flashlights. Although, in an attempt to keep my collection to a minimum, I end up purchasing most as gifts for family and friends. Right now, my personal collection is as follows:

Streamlight Stylus Pro (C4 LED, 1 mode, max. 48 lumens, 2xAAA)
JetBeam BA20 (XP-G LED, 2 mode [bezel twist], max. 270 lumens, 2xAA)
JetBeam BC40 (XM-L LED, 2 mode [bezel twist], max. 830 lumens, 2x18650)
Convoy S2 (XM-L U2 LED, 3/5 mode [clicky], AMC7135*8 version (max. 700 lumens?), 1x18650)
Convoy C8 (XM-L U2 LED, 3/5 mode [clicky], AMC7135*8 version (max. 700 lumens?), 1x18650)

However, I also play around with a Fenix LD20, Streamlight Survivor, and a few Colemans that belong to others in my family (Coleman was actually the brand that first got me hooked on flashlights).

Between all of these excellent flashlights, I find that I most prefer the bezel-twist style mode interface (hence, the JetBeams). However, I also do like strobe modes (I think they’re cool), just not SOS modes. And I HATE having to cycle through 3-4-5 different brightness/flashy settings on a clicky interface to get to the strobe mode. I do like how the LD20 incorporates both the clicky and bezel-twist styles. I just never want to toggle between more than two modes using the clicky method.

Long story short, I have come to the conclusion that the perfect flashlight would have a maximum of 4 modes spaced out between two bezel settings, each having two clicky modes. A fully tightened bezel would always start out on high mode (or Turbo, 100), and could be toggled to a strobe mode with a light-press. A slightly loosened bezel would shine initially on low (3-5) and could be toggled to a medium mode (20-30%, I do prefer my medium modes to be closer to my low modes than high). I wish all of my flashlights worked like this…

What are your thoughts on the matter? How would you space the modes on your perfect flashlight, and how would you change between them?

I’d have a 2 mode”straight light and strobe” flashlight with a qtc pill for infinite variability
And btw welcome to BLF
